Nars blush was my introduction into the Nars line, and I approached 'NarsOrgasm' with mixed feelings - on the one hand it has that cult status and so many rave about it - on the other there are those that believe it's way overhyped. I wasn't sure what side of the fence I was on - so I trecked to my local Sephora to see if I could fit in with all the hype. Sadly, this is one "o" that just isn't for me. It's a nice color but doesn't work great with my skin tone - I did love the texture and pigmentation of the Nars blush though and knew I'd find something that suited me better... that 'something' came in the form of SIN which is described by Sephora as a "berry with gold shimmer" - that's a fairly accurate description, it's a nice deep pink, moving towards mauve and the bit of shimmer makes cheeks look healthy and glowing but not garish... So where as Nars blushes go, i'll skip the "o" and sin instead.

I love love love love! BE foundation, as well as many of their other products, mineral veil, shadows, glimmers, etc etc. I've been using the bareMinerals foundation for about two years now and I can't imagine ever going back to anything else. I have oily/combination skin and have been fighting with moderate acne for as long as I remember - as a teenager I looked forward to the days where I'd be an adult and finally be rid of the issue only to discover as an adult that now I get to experience the joys of adult acne... BE (along with a pretty strict skincare routine) has really helped my face... it's light, goes on really easily, does a good job of mattifying my skin and i have way less breakouts. I definitely recommend - only warning is be sure not to overbuff (it will make you look very shiny)

Lights, Camera, Lashes is the actual name of this mascara from Tarte. I've been on the search for the holy grail of mascaras for quite some time. For a natural look Clinique's Naturally Glossy Mascara comes pretty close to that grail. For more drama without flakes and clumps Lights, Camera, Lashes is pretty spectacular. I've gone through a myriad of mascaras, both cheap and more pricey, on my neverending search, and I'm pretty sure that this mascara by Tarte will stay in my beauty repertoire for some time to come. If you're looking for really high drama lashes, falsies are probably the best way to go and don't expect miracles from this little wand concealed in a snake-skin like tube but if you want some pretty good volume with no clumps, flakes or smudges definitely give this one a try. I can't give an opinion on the curl, I use an eyelash curler before my mascara, but it keeps the curl made by my curler and makes it last all day. It definitely volumizes very well, and although I have pretty long eyelashes naturally, it did seem to add a bit of length (not spectacular in that aspect so if you have really short lashes and are looking for length you may be a bit disappointed). All in all this is a pretty great mascara and I'd definitely recommend to those looking for fairly dramatic lashes without clumps and smudges

Those who read beauty reviews, blogs etc will have undoubtedly heard the headline statement before. I, and thankfully I am not alone in this opinion, cannot understand what the heck all the hype is about Great Lash. I hate Great Lash mascara, it takes forever to try, it clumps and it doesn't do a heck of a whole lot else. Everytime I read about how it's the #1 mascara choice of makeup artists I am always baffled by this. There are sooo many other significantly better mascaras out there and not just pricey department store brands (cause we all know some of those fall short too), if you want a great drug store mascara I've recently become enamoured with Cover Girl's new lash blast but even Maybelline makes better mascaras. I give Great Lash two thumbs down, and if I had more thumbs they'd be down too.
