great for semi dry places and normal skin

During the winters in Hawaii the weather was not dry, but drier than the summer times. This worked great for my normal/combo skin, but since moving to the states my skin has become super dry in the states of Nevada and CO. I got a huge bottle of this for my pre-teen daughter who lives in Hawaii and she has combination skin and she likes this product. It's a good price and last a long time, so this is worth the investment, but it really depends on the season and state you live in.

Elizabeth Arden SuperStart Skin Renewal Booster

Smells nice, good concept, but Not for sensitive skin

So I was able to try this product full sized for an honest review. I really initially wanted to like this, but I am an ingredient reader because I have such sensitive skin & have to be careful because my face can get inflamed by fragrance even if the ingredient "parfumor" "fragrance" is the last two ingredients. well when I pumped this into my palm it smelled wonderful and that was first warning sign. I read the ingredients and there is fragrance towards the middle of the list, which means it has Alot or more than enough to make sensitive skin, itch, rashy and inflamed. I instead have been using this on my chest area since I have a higher tolerance there and on the back of my hands. So far I do like it. now do I think it's worth the price? Not at all, largely due to the fact it has a lot of fragrance and it's obvious from the smell. As a whole in general fragrance in skincare is not good for the skin.

    Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain

THE BEST stain and Moisturizing Lip stick/gloss

I can't Rave about this more than it already deserves! MAC lipstain use to be my favorite, though you do have to put on a gloss to keep it at bay from feeling a bit dry. I have been eyeing these bad boys out for over a year and for some reason didn't want to shell out the money though I spend much more on other products. I think it's because the last product of this brand that excited me cost me almost 50 bucks and was SUCH a FLOP! Worthless highlighter. THis is SOOO worth it and then some. It makes my lips look, pouty, plump, alluring and "Kissably wet" the hubby says. I basically Love all the colors and atleast 17 of them look good on me. lol Tried them at sephora on my inner upper arm which is same I don't need to reapply this, but I do put on several coats if I want a darker more night time look. It lasts and keeps my lips moisturized. Sometimes I put on a irridescent color over it for a sheer look and it still last after the that color comes off. It doesn't come off like other brands and leave your lips looking have done with just color on the out rim lip. This best lip stick/stain/gloss ever. I can't wait to get 6 more. My goal by xmas it to by 10 of them!

  • Maybelline New York Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm

I've been wanting to buy this and reading up on moisturizing lip balms/glosses with spf. Though the SPF in this is worthless and mot the kind that protects agains UVA it is great to use at night and throughout the day if your indoors, albeit a bit pricey for a basic lip balm. I do like how it really moisturizes my lips and I keep it right next to me on my bed. I'm constantly putting it on while I do work in bed on my computer. I actually finally bought one that was tinted on Amazon and at target there was a duo on sale with came out to $2.50 each, still a bit high, but it is very luscious on my lips. I use my Jenu on my lips througout the day and when that dries I put this on. When Im in doors which is 90% of the time and I hardly even go into the sun, I use this constantly. I'm really into to having my lips stay youthful, full, luscious looking and pouty so I've been researching a ton of lip products. All and all so far this is in my top 5 for lip balms, though I wish it as a bit more tinted. it's really sheer and the colors is faint, but perfect for kids and teens.

Philosophy Hope in a Jar A to Z Cream

Fantastic light coverage and Very moisturizing!

Now I've been using BB creams for years before the whole bandwagon overpriced fad hit the US. This though it gives the assumtion of a BB and CC cream in one, is not any. It's not thick like an actuall BB and doesn't correct like the so called false claims of CC does, but it does moisturize especially for very dry skin like mine and it does give nice coverage if you don't have any dark scars or only light sun spots. It fully covers for me and I use it as a foundation and then layer over it color science sunscreen powder in medium. It's fantastic and I don't see it drying out or cracking like many foundations used in the past. Nor is it too thick. It's wonderful. I don't give it a 10 stars because it's pricey and I can get just as good BB creams and foundations for 1/4 of the cost, but I did get it for 15 dollars less than sephora sells it for. This is def. worth the money if you don't like to use drugstore brands.

  • Paula's Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum

Paula's Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum

Good for the price, but not Retinoid good Quality.

I've tried ALL of Paula;s dry skin, sensitive skin and some of the combination products. I've been using this product for almost a year switching up my routine with Tetinoin, Nia24 and Paulas's resist serum.. I like the silky texture of this product, but as in Retinoid quality I don't think it's that great. Not better than others Ive used, but for the price especially when on sale and then a $10 off referral fee it's cheap, but sadly cheap retinoid quality. So it's not my favorite of her brands, I think her other serums are just as good or better.

    Pixi Correction Concentrate

Great for Oil, but not Dry skin

I was given the opportunity to review this after being sent this product. I wanted to have a good amount time to try this out for more than a week. Although I do like the color and texture, it doesn't seem to be good for my dry skin. I do moisture a lot under my eyes and it soaks up products fast. My side cheeks are more moist and oily/combo an it covered up a few light blemish scars that I picked at. I can see this being really good for teens/young adults, but I'm 36 and my skin is dry in Colorado. It did work well with my side cheek, but cracked under my yes and to get the concealment I wanted to cover my circles I would've had to cake it on. I'm not particularly fond of jarring products, as I've noticed they seem to dry up faster, even my mac jar concealers dry and crack fast. I used this to cover my blemish scars even before going to the gym, jut to give me an even skin tone and it works well. I go back to Hawaii soon and plan on trying it there for my under eyes, since it's humid weather and my skin is moist, soft and supple in High humidity places, but I would say it's not the best product in dry climates.

Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner

Greatest Eyeliner to date for 2014!

I can't believe no one has written a review yet on this Fabulous smear free liner. Only recently have I got into putting liner on the waterline because when I tried in the past even with waterproof liners like make up forever and other pricey brands, they always ran and smudged under my eyes and make me look like a raccoon! I have runny eyes and blink and squint a lot.. These work Absolutely divine! I've got the Brown and green and gonna get more because I've found nothing better. Just in case I do put elf liner sealer on, only because I need that extra protection to counter balance squinting more than the average person. These are so nice and a life saver, and look so gorgeous and make my eyes POP! So worth the price that's for sure!

  • E.L.F. Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

E.L.F. Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

Very Good Bronzer, but Not for contouring!

Okay for just 3 bucks, how could I resist! I use Paulas choice reviews before buying anything and read up on ingredients, ELF is right up there with many brands I own like Mac, Dior, Estee Lauder, well...you name it, I'm a Makeup/Skincare junky ok.. So the name on this is Very misleading because while it is a Very good bronzer, it has too much shimmer to "Actually" use as a contour. Without the shimmer and if it were just plain Matte it would have been sooo Perfect, but if you use this to contour your cheeks, you'll just look Dirty and like a shiny brown disco ball. SOOOO many women today think bronzer and use it to contour, I use to be one of them.. You can't use shimmer to make a natural dark shadow that creates the illusion you really do have high cheekbones., you need just basic matte colors for that. The blush if used lightly is not bad, but I got this just for the bronzer. It does create a nice sunkissed look, but you can easily go over board. Like anything else, a Good quality brush like Real Techniques or Makeup forever kabuki should be used. Honestly even ELF is pretty darn good. I would stay away from the Mac Stipple though because it sheds.. I got mine from the Mac store itself and it was horrible! And don't use Bar Escentials either, they have the worst especially Kabuki brush for bronze blending.

  • Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion WetForce SPF 50+

I'm a sunscreen junky and Love using atleast 2-3 at a time to cover all my basis and make sure I'm getting all 3 top ingredients for coverage. This one is Perfect if you are working out in the sun. I use it in the summer when I'm back home in Hawaii and I run and walk outside for about 2-3 a day during the hottest times. Just beware it can sting if it get's into your eyes. I don't recommend it on days your dolling up with makeup because it's a bit greasy and doesn't dry well enough to apply makeup on. It does have a little whiteness to it so you'll look a little pasty, but I don't really care as long as it keeps my skin protected and wrinkle free. I got it for about $30 at sephora in San Luis Obispo about 2 yrs ago and it lasted for a year. I would say this is worth the price, but you Can find just as good, if not better and cheaper sunscreen out there. Paula's choice, neutrogena, coppertone and La Roche are just as good.
