  • Almay Intense i-Color Everyday Neutrals Eyeshadow

I have purchased two of these since they reformulated these trios, and I have been slightly disappointed in both. The color combinations are interesting and fun, but only one out of the three shades is usually good. The others are extremely powdery, not highly pigmented, and patchy when you try to blend. I was so disappointed that these cute eyeshadows did not live up to my expectations!

    Dickinson's Energizing Astringent

    An Economical Toner Option

I have used several bottles of Dickinson's Witch Hazel Toner, and I find it a beneficial component of my routine. I prefer to pour a little on a cotton round and swab it downward over my face after cleansing to remove remaining dirt. When used too often, witch hazel can be bad for skin, but I find it refreshing to swipe over my face in the morning and at night! It also removes waterproof eye makeup.

  • Maybelline New York FaceStudio Master Chrome

I bought this in Rose Gold, and I have enjoyed using it. However, a little goes a long way. It is certainly metallic. The texture is creamy and blendable, but I have trouble with the highlighter breaking and crumbling in the compact even though I haven't dropped it or anything. A great highlighter if you're looking for a glow that pops, but not so great if you travel a lot (might be a loose powdery mess) or prefer a very natural look.

  • Clarisonic Mia 2
    9.0

    Clarisonic Mia 2

    A Game-Changer!

I have skin that is prone to mild hormonal acne and was becoming frustrated because I was so serious about caring for my skin and wasn't seeing the results I wanted. I got the Mia 2 in December of 2017 and have used it ever since. My skin feels cleaner, firmer, and smoother. It has improved blackheads on my nose, but they have not completely gone away. However, my pores are smaller and acne scars are fading. It has become an indispensable part of my daily routine. I have paired this with several different brush heads and had good results with each. It also doesn't need to be charged often even though I use it twice a day. I feel that it's important to mention that getting your skin adjusted to a Clarisonic device can be really rough. Immediately after beginning using the device, I got several small, shallow zits. However, they were gone quickly. I believe the Clarisonic was just brining up dirt, etc from quite deep in my pores. My skin can tend towards the dry side, and at first using the Mia 2 exacerbated that, but my skin quickly got used to it. I would recommend to start slowly (perhaps once or twice per week) and build up to twice a day. Starting using this over holiday breaks or summer vacation is also optimal, in case it takes a week or two for your skin to get adjusted. You'll be glad you did!

  • CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser

    CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser

    Definitely a Favorite

I have been through so many bottles of this cleanser! It is gentle, and works well on my combination, slightly acne-prone skin. I have used it with and without a Clarisonic, and generally use this in the summer and switch to the hydrating one in the winter when my skin is a bit dryer. I think it is a good value too. The pump lasts me many months.

  • OGX Coconut Miracle Oil Shampoo
    8.0

    OGX Coconut Miracle Oil Shampoo

A favorite from the OGX product line-up!

I have type 3B curls that are high porosity, so I prioritize using sulfate/silicone-free shampoos and conditioners. OGX has several shampoos that I enjoy using, but I was excited to try this one given that I am a huge fan of both the smell of coconut and incorporating coconut oil into my beauty routine. The scent certainly did not disappoint me; it smelled wonderful! The Coconut Miracle Oil Shampoo is surprisingly moisturizing for a shampoo. Having curly hair puts my hair at higher risk of brittleness, plus I occasionally style with heat, but I did not have to use as many leave in conditioning products to achieve a soft-feeling mane while using this shampoo. A word of warning, however: if your scalp tends toward the oilier side, this shampoo probably is not for you. Even if you do not have an oily scalp, I would recommend keeping a gentle clarifying shampoo to use once a week so you are maintaining a clean base.

  • OGX Quenching Coconut Curls Shampoo
    8.0

    OGX Quenching Coconut Curls Shampoo

    Sulfate-free and smells good!

I have high-porosity 3B curls, so I prioritize finding shampoos and conditioners that are sulfate and silicone-free. Coconut is also one of my favorite smells, so I was excited to use this. I generally like OGX products, and this was no exception. I saw an improvement in the health of my hair and scalp. My hair was moisturized but not limp. However, I am not sure that this offered many benefits specific to curly hair; it was just another shampoo in the OGX lineup that I had positive results from.

  • CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

    CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

    Long-time Favorite!

I have used this cleanser for several years, both with a Clarisonic and without, and I recommend it! It works wonderfully on dry, combination, and/or acne prone skin while still cleaning deeply. CeraVe sometimes releases coupons, so keep your eyes open!

  • Clarisonic Acne Cleansing Brush Head

I have tried four different brush heads for my Clarisonic, and I use this one most often. Using a Clarisonic in general has helped stabilize my skin, but this brush really seems to deep clean. I still occasionally have breakouts, but they have decreased in both frequency and visibility since adding this brush into my skincare routine. I use this twice a day and think it works well with Cera Ve's Hydrating Facial Cleanser. However, I will offer a word of warning. When I began using a Clarisonic my skin went through a two week period of being very dry and prone to small pimples. I would recommend using this a few times a week and slowly building up to twice a day if you know you have sensitive skin.
