  • Max Factor Vivid Impact Lip Color

I got this new Max Factor lipstick in 4 colors, sight unseen, online. It was a gamble, yeah, but I LOVE that I did it! The colors are definitely vivid, but totally wearable. And for a lipstick that packs this much color, it glides on so smoothly and feels very lightweight on the lips. They do not give me that caked-on lipstick look that I hate! Plus, the shea butter makes my lips feel moisturized and happy. I am thrilled with the quality and value. These lipsticks are high-end beauty store material! FYI, I got Ms. Understood (bright hot pink fuchsia - gorgeous, but kind of hard to remove completely), Ms. Terious (medium brownish plum), Vegas Baby (light rosy brown) and Sex Kitten (pinkish orange with pearly finish - very hot!). I definitely see myself adding more to my collection :)

    Givenchy The Rouge Interdit Shine

Fun and sparkly, perfect for casual looks!

I bought this lipstick because I'd been on the market for something sheer and sparkly for my lips, but I didn't want to go for a gloss since those tend to be sticky and don't last through one drink without reapplying. The presentation of the lipstick drew me in, and the selection of colors and their sheer finish had me testing nearly all of them on my hand. I went with the No. 5 shade, Candy Pink. It's a bubblegum pink color with tiny sparkles infused into the stick. The packaging is pure luxury and lives up to the $26.50 price tag. The lipstick itself glides on effortlessly, leaving my lips sheerly colored, shiny and lovely. It doesn't dry out and it has surprising staying power for a high-gloss, sheerly pigmented lipstick. But then again, I think with this one you do get what you pay for! If the price was a little lower, I would not hesitate to go back for another color. It's a bit steep though for more than a random splurge, so I'll be happy with my Candy Pink for now and look for another color when this tube runs out.

  • Lumene Body Aktiva Exfoliating Body Scrub

Lumene Body Aktiva Exfoliating Body Scrub

A sugary treat for your skin

This scrub makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. Granules of sugar polish the skin gently and effectively to produce a smooth finish after gently sloughing off dead skin. It's really great on areas prone to dry skin, like feet and elbows. When I use it, I leave my skin wet and scrub it in with my hands for 30 seconds to a minute in each area I apply it. The smell of the scrub is light and fresh, and leaves skin slightly scented. The scrub itself washes off easily, too. For the money you get a lot of product; I bought one pot about 10 months ago and have only just recently started seeing the bottom of the container. A little goes a long way, plus you only need to use it once a week at the most. Lumene makes a great product; this is just another example in their line of naturals-based bath products.

    Nars Multiple

    A lifelong commitment

I've never been a big fan for blushes, but when I was browsing Sephora one day this one caught my eye because of the name of the shade. Intrigued, I tested some on my face and liked what I saw, so I grabbed the last one in stock and haven't looked back since. The formulation is a dreamy cream to powder and it's so super blendable. The color looks like way too much when it first goes on but after a few practiced swirls of a nice big brush it transforms my cheeks into looking healthily flushed and dewy - much like the name implies! It took a few tries before I got the look I wanted perfected, but I would say that this is a good blush for beginners. It washes off easily with any cleanser. So this is the blush I think I'll be using for the rest of my life. It isn't cheap but you get so much that it's bound to last for a long time before needing to buy another one. The packaging is really cool too. I read somewhere that NARS packaging is a modern day beauty icon and it's so portable, easy to slip into your purse or makeup case so you have it for touchups if you need them. Overall, I'd say it's worth every cent.

    Lumene Beauty Base Eyeshadow Primer

BETTER than the specialty store brands for less $$$!

This was the first eye makeup primer I ever used and it's the one I love the most. The formulation is creamy and goes on smooth, blending in flawlessly to create a strong base to hold your eyeshadow and liner all day. It's amazing stuff! I use my pinky finger to apply it to my eyelids and spread it out until it blends in to my skin, then apply my eyeshadow on top, building as much as I want. I've never had eyeshadow get dull while wearing this primer underneath. A great purchase to help you get the most out of your eyeshadows, by far. I can't recommend this highly enough.
