    Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cream

My skin must not be stressed enough for this cream...

Color me unimpressed, for the most part. This product is meant to give "hyper-protection and healing relief for super-sensitive skin. Formulated to rescue skin from external aggressors like harsh weather and provide comfort after dermatological procedures and surgeries, it pampers and calms seriously stressed skin." Really, maybe my skin is just too pampered? Maybe I just needed to go out and get some windburn or something? I don't know, but I used this product twice a day for several days and didn't really notice... anything. Pure Cloud Cream smells great, and the texture really is soft as a cloud, but when I put this on I couldn't tell I had it on- good, yes, as my skin wasn't smothered, but I didn't feel soothed or anything dramatic. I consider this a decent moisturizer with a lofty price - but I will tell ya it's great on my chapped lips, so maybe if your skin really is stressed it's a miracle product? I'd ask for a sample for your weather-bitten or post-procedure skin, just to see if it's going to help before sinking almost $80 into it. If it helps, right a review and let us know! :)

    MAC 217 Blending Brush

I would cry if MAC stopped making this brush.

Remember that scene from Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts' character said "Mistake. Big Mistake!"? That's how I would feel if MAC stopped making this brush. It's great for creams, for which it was designed, and even nice with powders. I have three of these for personal use: 1 I use to apply my Painterly Paint Pot as a base for most eye looks I do; 1 I use to apply my concealer; 1 I use for dry, powder products. That third one gets less use than the others. I have several of this brush for my professional kit, too, and it is a favorite go-to brush. I love it because it doesn't absorb creamy products, nor does it streak them up. It simply deposits the color exactly where I want it to go. What more can you ask of a brush!? The curved flower tip of the brush is perfect for light applications, but you can press a bit more firmly and get more coverage. As with most MAC brushes, this holds up nicely and doesn't shed hairs all over the place. This is a required brush, in my humble opinion, for anyone who is serious about makeup!

Strawbaby - LE with Fafi for MAC but needs to be made perm!

I recently acquired the Fafi for MAC lipstick Strawbaby. OK, full disclosure: I got two of 'em. This rosy coral shade has enough shimmer to look lively, but it isn't a traditional frost (read: it's not gritty, nor is it 60's frost that makes you look like a crazy cat lady). The shade is amazing, especially with Spring '08 fashions that call for fun colors. The wear is nice, like most MAC lipsticks, and can be prolonged with MAC's Lip Primer. I simply adore this shade. MAC gods: please bring this back as Perm!

    Curl up with this Kitten!

Oh my, I love Kitten eyeshadow. I don't use it often, but every time I pick it up I wonder why? (I know exactly why, actually: because I have more eyeshadows than the Estee Lauder factory!) Kitten is so lovely and shimmery and soft. It's a nice benign shade that would work on just about everyone: it's a soft, soft peachy beige. The shimmer is also nice, because it's soft- not glittery. Kitten is a great all-over shade, perfect base if you want to dilute darker colors placed on top of it, and a fantastic brightener for days when you need a hit of light in the eye area. All around a great color I love to curl up next to. Two stars come off because I resent having to buy a palette for one shadow.

I consider Chinatown, but Bond No. 9 to be the perfect floral fragrance. That said, I'm not a fan of really floral scents! The reason I like this one is the same reason that Chinatown is a fun place to be: diversity and variety. When you walk down the streets in Chinatown, you're jostled by tons of other people as you try to pass by shops offering any kind of ware (or food!) you can imagine. You are bombarded by scents of incense, fresh flowers, spices from food... just as you are when you spritz on some Chinatown perfume. It's a very floral scent masterfully balanced with notes of patchouli, cardamom and vanilla, with a handful of cedar, guaiac wood and sandalwood thrown in. Plus, the bottle is gorgeous - look at that graceful branching design!

  • GoSMILE Lemonade Smile Luxury Toothpaste

White teeth + aromatherapy via lemon extracts and oils + fluoride = a healthy smile on an awake and sparkly you! This product is good - I love how it isn't abrasive, how it's fresh but not annoying taste-wise, and how it just makes me smile with its lemoniness. 5% of the proceeds go to Autism Speaks, so if you're on the fence about this product, let your conscience guide you.

  • Lush Shower Gels

Citrusy coffee smelling goodness to wake me up in the morning. I love Sonic Death Monkey, and not just for the clever name! This shower gel is amazingly upbeat with its feet soundly grounded in deep chocolatey goodness. I love the consistency - but it's certainly not a thick and gooey product, so if that's what you're looking for you need to keep looking. I love the smell - but if you like products to smell like flowers or sugar you need to keep looking. I like the way this feels, but if you want tons of suds you need to keep looking. This is a straight-up, no frills morning shower gel and it's divine!

  • Chanel Inimitable Mascara

I have always been on the search for the perfect mascara. Actually, I'm convinced that there is not one perfect mascara- I think there is a perfect mascara for each person, but it's not the same mascara for each person. At any rate, MY perfect mascara is Chanel Inimitable. It slicks on gracefully. It gives a bit of volume with no clumping. It gives a bit of length without looking spidery. It's black - not a wishy-washy almost-black. All in all, just what I'm looking for in a mascara.

    Lush Dusting Powders

    Silky Underwear is amazingly wonderful.

I don't really get into powders much, but I decided to buy Silky Underwear for some reason. Well, it must have been fate, because I absolutely adore this powder! It glides right on, and the smell is heavenly (jasmine and vetiver). I love the sillage and can catch whiffs of it throughout the day as I move. I can still smell the beautiful scent when I go to bed. Plus, it has these odd little chunks of cocoa butter in it. While it's strange to smooth on a powder that's chunky, I've gotten used to it, and of course the chunks are what makes the powder moisturizing in addition to smelly and powdery. Basically, this immediately became a must-have product for me.
