  • Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner

Considering its good reviews and the fact that it's a littttle more expensive than my last one (Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner), I had high hopes for this conditioner. Sadly, I'm not in love. I have curly/wavy hair that is a few inches past my shoulders. Cons: After my shower, I can't run my wide-toothed comb through my hair, because it's still a little tangled. I also haven't noticed as much shine as my old conditioner (which again, was cheaper). Pros: It smells great and is noticeably better than if I don't use any conditioner.

    Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo

Works when others didn't, but some side effects

For a good long while, I've had this white residue in my hair. Sometimes it's flaky, but often it just feels like gunky, oily stuff. (Gross, I know.) I tried Head & Shoulders but didn't notice a real difference. This stuff got rid of it! It was really satisfying to not feel that gunky stuff on my scalp anymore. BUT: This stuff smells gross. The first time I used it, I convinced myself that it really wasn't that bad, but by the second and third times, ugh. It was hard to take the smell. And it scents your hair pretty strongly (my husband noticed... lol), so I have to use a strongly scented conditioner to cover it up. Also, I was hoping it would kick the oily gunk for good, but it comes back eventually. (Although, since it smells so bad, I don't use it as often as I probably should. So maybe it would kick it for good if I used it more frequently.) Finally, it makes my hair & scalp kinda dry, but again, if I use conditioner, it's all good.

L'Oreal Paris EverSleek Reparative Smoothing Conditioner

Not Noticeably Better than Going Without Conditioner

I have long, wavy, non-color-treated hair that likes to dry kinda poofy. After using this conditioner, my hair is still tangled and hard to comb, so I have to use a leave-in conditioner, too. If I don't use a leave-in conditioner, my hair dries big and tangled. The only perk: my hair dries slightly shinier than if I don't condition.

  • Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Loose Powder Foundation

I couldn't seem to get enough of the powder on the brush to make a noticeable difference on my face. Either that, or it's just so sheer that it's a waste of time.

  • Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser

    Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser

Has helped to clear up my face

I'd been having weeks of random acne spots, but whenever I'd use heavy-duty toners or cleansers, my skin would get super dry, flaky, and I'd end up with new pimples as well. (It's winter and the air is cold and dry, which I think is part of the problem.) Anyway, this stuff removes my makeup & cleanses my face, but is gentle, and after a few days of using it (sometimes morning + night, sometimes just night), my skin is looking so much clearer. The only thing I was confused by at first is that it doesn't come out of the bottle as foam; it just foams like normal soap as you lather it. So maybe a misleading name, but the stuff is making my face look good!

  • Tresemmé Flawless Curls Extra Hold Mousse

Tresemmé Flawless Curls Extra Hold Mousse

    Makes my hair look great!

I have naturally wavy/curly hair that dries on the poofy side if I don't use any product. This stuff keeps it looking shiny, soft, and voluminous without the poofy-ness (new word alert! haha). As long as you don't overdo it (I use 2 - 3 small handfuls of the stuff, concentrated at the end of my hair and my face-framing hair), it doesn't give that crunchy/wet look.

  • L'Oreal Paris True Match Naturale Mascara Mineral-Enriched Mascara

This is a mascara that I highly recommend. When I first bought it, I found the mascara to be a bit wet, which led to a small amount of clumping. However, after a week or two of use, it dried out enough to be just perfect for me. My lashes are naturally thick-ish and have decent length (not crazy long, but not short either), so I was just looking for something to add some length and maybe a little volume. This definitely does that (length and a little volume), all the while being clump-free. It takes a little longer than some other mascaras to dry, but it's not really a problem and doesn't make a mess around my eyes. Also, my lashes feel soft even after the mascara has dried, and the natural ingredients make me feel safe about using it, as well as being fine for my contact lenses. All in all, very good. Give it a week or two of use to dry out a bit, and you're all set.
