It tastes and smells fantastic while delivering serious doses of moisture and shine to dry lips. It isn't sticky or goopy, and it doesn't wear off immediately. And the tin is huge. I always lose one way before I run out.

As much as I try with my hair, I feel like I was always teetering between voluminous, but frizzy and smooth, but lifeless. With this mist, I stay bouncy and shiny. The price is a bit steep, so I stock up at Ulta when they have big sales on it (paired with those nifty circular coupons, I can usually get my bottles for about seven bucks). Even if I did have to pay full price for a bottle, I wouldn't balk. I haven't found a single product that does what this does!

I bought this for the first time about a year ago, and I was AMAZED at the finish this gave to my skin. Guys were commenting on how velvety my skin looked. GUYS. It made any kinda large pores on my face COMPLETELY disappear, and helped camouflage any super fun breakouts I experienced. If I don't spritz my face with an Evian spritzer, my skin looks cakey in this foundation. As my skin has transitioned to adulthood, I need this less and less, but I still use it from time to time on my t-zone. But, like many others on here, I use it as a powder. I use a sephora kabuki brush in place of the dinky built in brush.

My hair has really been unpleasant looking these past few weeks. I've been expecting those random extras from the "Merry Old Land of Oz" to come along and shear my head for Scarecrow stuffing. Yeah, that bad. I've been doing some soul, or rather, scalp searching to figure out what could be the culprit. As far as I can remember, I've been giving my hair the same TLC as always except for one variant: I cheaped out and bought this heat protectant a few weeks ago. So I decided to spray my head, except, on one side, instead of this spray, I used water. My hair is much shinier and much less straw-like when sprayed with plain old H20. I'll spend the extra cash on good heat protectant, and if you use a lot of heat, I recommend you do, too.

I received this in my stocking this year and thought the packaging was adorable. Unfortunately, the ring on top is less a cheeky throwback on dress up jewelry and more just dress up jewelry. It looks like something you'd find in a dollar store princess dress up set. The nail polish itself is in a tiny bottle, which I love in theory; I hate when a bottle dries up when it's mostly full. Unfortunately, this is the only good thing I can say about this nail polish. The color, a fun, vibrant sparkly purple in the bottle, ends up looking dull and thin on my fingers after two coats. As a matter of fact, it takes four coats before I can no longer see my nails underneath the polish. The color itself looks far more juvenile on my nails than in the bottle. I can't think of a time when this color would ever be appropriate. It's going into the garbage bin as soon as I'm finished writing this.

I wish more eyeshadows came in compacts like this, with the large mirror. On the other hand, the shades, while pretty, have low color pay off and a high likelihood of fading, even with THAT eyeshadow primer. I bought a smokey eye quad, and it came with this unpleasant pink (I'm of the school that thinks that pinks and reds belong on your cheeks and lips, not on your eyes, where they make you look allergic to something or lab rat-esque). The slate and the pewter were really lovely colors with a reasonable amount of fine shimmer. I especially liked the lighter of the two grays. But they migrate into creases and leave your makeup looking like you partied all night, even after a few hours. The white that was included is also unsavory. It has these atrocious chunks of glitter that render it unusable. All in all, you're better off buying some of the drugstore quads and saving your money.

I'll be honest: most of the Cover Girl products fall flat for me. I'm always tricked by their fresh-faced celebrities and crisp advertisements into thinking that some hideous mineral foundation or some mediocre mascara will be my next "A-ha!" product, only to be disappointed when I get home to find that their minimalistic packaging is holding an inferior product. THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE. For the price, these can't be beat. They come in a multitude of colors, from a shimmery vanilla perfect for your inner v to a zesty lime that screams summer to a creamy cool mocha that is perfect for accentuating your creases, and everything in between. The colors are richly pigmented, yet buildable, so you can do many things with them (load a densely packed brush and pat it on! Blow the excess off a blender brush and give yourself a sheer wash! Wet a brush and swipe on an insanely bold concentrate!). They can crease if you wear them for long periods of time without primer, but what eyeshadow doesn't? And the price. The price! They're so cheap. I love my NARS as much as the next girl, but I still usually buy these. I hate the feeling when I walk out of Sephora with two hours' wages in an itty bitty black bag, so I save that for the extraordinary shades.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this mascara, but I did try it after having heard dozens of magazine beauty editors gush about how utterly fantastic it is. And, after using it for a few days, I couldn't help but wonder if I was using the same mascara. I have had to buy generic $3 mascaras in a pinch on the way to work that had more staying power than this mascara. The package should say "Waterproof... but all bets are off for anything else, oxygen included". And it doesn't really do anything for my eyelashes. I have medium-short eyelashes that I'm constantly coaxing to their full potential, and this mascara just doesn't provide me with a formula or a wand that does what I need.

Compared to the great nail polish brands of our time (OPI, Essie, Deborah Lippman), China Glaze nail polishes fall a teensy tad flat, I admit. Their pinks can be a little... lacking, to say the least, and their reds definitely aren't as all-flattering at OPI's. But when you are looking for a fun color, these can't be beat. They have a multitude of colors that you just can't find at your drugstore. For St. Patty's Day, I stopped by my local Sally's Beauty Supply and bought every green they offered (four fun shades!), and I wasn't disappointed with a single one. I did once buy the black, and it left me underwhelmed (So streaky! So thin!). If you want to save a few dollars, or if you are buying a one-time color to match a specific outfit or holiday, then this is definitely one of the best bangs for your buck.

Being the beauty pioneer that I am, you will rarely find me using my trusty anything. As long as there's something new to try, I will be trying it (unless it has a very low rating). So when I saw this top coat at the store, I thought, "Why not? After all topcoat is top coat, right?" Wrong. This particular top coat not only neglects to provide a layer of protection to your nail color, but it flakes off unevenly before your color even decides to chip! NYC has some great little finds, but this product is one that you can save money by avoiding.
