    Benefit Finding Mr.Bright

    Face Brightening Samples

This is a face brightening kit. Finding mr. bright is filled with 4 products for a luminous complexion, including Girl Meets Pearl highlighter, Posietint, a cheek stain, High Beam Highlighter and Erase Paste a good under eye concealer. The products are packaged in a small box with a mirror in the inside top of the box. It includes a step-by-step brightening lesson. Unfortunately, it is $36.00, which is a LOT for very small samples. Each of the products is good and this provides an opportunity to test before you purchase a full-size, but you are better off testing in the store and 1 or 2 items that would be close in price to the $36 for the samples. If you're going to by anything that's really worth buying, it's Erase Paste. This is one of the best concealers, and I also put it on my lids as a primer. You need a small foundation brush for application since it is a whipped cream substance. One does not really need 2 highlighters. But if you're going to buy 2 items, I would include Posie Tint, which is a cheek stain that actually shows up. Just be wary before you buy these sample kits because the price of a sample kit is usually equal to or more than the actual full size products.

    Benefit Her Name Was Glowla

    Samples in a Nice Presentation

This particular sample kit comes with a pink/coral blush, silly little brush, 5 eyeshadows ranging from white, 2 corals, light brown and dark brown. Bad Gal Lash, Life on the A list gloss, small sized High Beam and Moon Beam, and a small applicator with a slanted brush on one end and a regular brush on the other end. The box is pretty and has a mirror. I like this because it is good for travel or to keep in your purse. All but the Moon Beam and High Beam highlighters are a good size. I like the colors of the blush and eye shadows. The colors all look good together. Both the lip gloss and mascara are good products, and, again, the gloss is in the same color family as the rest of the products. The one thing that is useless is the brush to apply the blush. It's way too small to be effective. Of the Benefit sample boxes, I like this the most because some real thought went into coordinating colors as well as the mascara and highlighters. Great attention was paid to the packaging. I do like this kit, and to overcome the brush issues, I carry an Eco-Tools makeup brush set which comes with a canvas bag. I recommend this if you like a natural look and warm colors.

  • Benefit Double The Powder Box-O-Powder

I purchased several sample size Benefit products so I could test them. The more I think about this concept, it is actually outrageous. I paid $24 for samples, which, anywhere else are given to you. Anyway, no more of my rant for being stupid...Hoola is just an ordinary bronzer. Nothing special, and the full size one is expensive. I have used Physician's Formula and other "drugstore" brands with better success than Hoola. I think it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that because a product is considered "prestige" it must be better. My feeling now is the "prestige cosmetics" are simply expensive and come in pretty packaging. I was lured into this thinking. I have come to my senses and stay away from products such as Hoola just because it is made by Benefit. The ONLY advantage of prestige cosmetics is that you can test them in the store. However, please bear in mind that if you buy something from Walgreens you don't like and didn't have the opportunity to test, you can always return it with the receipt for a refund. All that being said, don't waste your money on an over-priced, every day, ordinary bronzer. Don't be lured to think it's better because it is Benefit. It's not!

  • Benefit The Porefessional Makeup Bag

I ended up with this bag because it was filled with products. I would never have bought it by itself. It is a nice bag, and I do use it, but I would never buy the bag by itself. It's too expensive and says "Porefessional" on it. Good advertising gimmick on Benefit's part. Save your money...look at the ULTA sale counters, or Walgreens. You don't need an ordinary bag that says "Porefessional." It isn't even pretty.

    Benefit Angel Lash

    Not Worth the Money

I gave this product a "1" because they are too expensive and do not last any longer than the $4.99 false eyelashes you can buy at Walgreens. When I worked at ULTA and had a discount, they were still too expensive. The regular price is $15 and they come in a nice plastic storage box. Bells and whistles. Who needs it. There is no difference in quality, application and life between these lashes and the much less expensive ones. As long as you use a good adhesive (Duo adhesive), gently remove them and clean with eye makeup remover, and gently comb with an unused mascara wand, the less expensive ones will last 5-6 wearings. I found Benefit's lashes didn't even hold up that long. Then, I discovered Katy Perry lashes as well as other in the $4-$5 range. Please don't waste $15 on these lashes just because they are Benefit.

  • Benefit How To Look The Best At Everything

I've discovered after buying a few of Benefits "palettes" that they are simply samples wrapped up all cute and pretty in a cute box. They are always $36.00. They are an opportunity for you to try out their products without the commitment to the full size. This particular sample box contains Porefessional, which is a really good cream-like gel that actually does diminish the size and appearance of pores; Hello Flawless Oxygen liquid makeup in a medium shade, which I found is better than the light color and I have pale skin, however, this foundation has no coverage for older skin; 2 shades of Bo-ing, a concealer which is not very good because it provides a very light coverage; and a finishing powder with a silly, small brush you'd never use. Of these products, for me, the only useable ones are Porefessional and the finishing powder. All in all, not worth $36! Returned it.

  • Nicole Richie Nicole Eau de Parfum

I was walking through a department store, and a salesperson asked me if I wanted to try this perfume, and I thought, what the heck, why not. She first sprayed it on one of the long strips of paper, I smelled it, and thought...I want to try it on me. It is wonderful!! The fragrance is soft, delicate with a touch of floral notes. I did buy it..it is a little pricey...$79, but I believe it is worth the money to rally treat yourself. It was also a celebration event, and she gave me 3 different styles of Juicy Couture bags and an Ed Hardy bag. So, I figured I lucked out! I recommend this perfume.

  • Bath & Body Works Ocean Cologne

I bought this because of it's very fresh and airy fragrance. It is not strong and lasts for about 5 hours. I collect many perfumes and eau de toilettes, and this is one of my favorites.

  • Bath & Body Works True Blue Spa Shea Cashmere Hand Cream

This cream is really great for hands. Because it is shea butter, it really absorbs. I used to buy L'Occitane and Aveda, but this is much better. Highly recommend.

    NYX Cosmetics Single Eye Shadow

Great Product at a Great Price

I heard good things about the NYX line, and I was very surprised by the quality of these eyeshadows. As an eyeshadow junky, I must say they are comparable to Urban Decay and cost much less. They are highly pigmented, apply evenly, don't smudge, smear or disappear, no creasing, and you don't need a primer. I have stopped buying Urban Decay palettes and individual shadows. They are way to expensive; and I get the same quality from NYX. I highly recommend the NYX line of cosmetics.
