Avon Liiv Botanicals Vitalizing Eye Cream with SPF 15
ATTENTION: THIS PRODUCT COSTS ABOUT $12, NOT $100!!!!!!!!
I bought this eye cream from the Avon website for $88 less than is listed here, plus an extra one for $1.99 on special. They must have meant to list it for $10 on this site. Anyway, awesome product and a real steal. I figured it would irritate my eyes because of the sunscreen. Eye moisturizers with sunscreen are so rare but so essential, and I was SO tired of looking for one. I had tried all kinds of diluted sunscreen under my eyes, including the most "gentle" products for babies, and all of them burned to some degree. Happily, this one causes no irritation whatsoever. While it does contain chemical sunscreen, it's also loaded with natural botanicals. It's a nice gel-cream consistency that goes on smoothly and sinks in quickly, and feels richly moisturizing. I use a lot of eye make-up, but this never gives me raccoon eyes. It smoothes fine lines instantly, and is the best eye brightener I've ever used. It has a nice fragrance, and a very slight white tint that blends easily and looks a lot more natural than undereye concealers.

This oldie-but-goodie still thickens lashes better than anything out there, and with only one application. No time-wasting "layering." No clumps, no flaking off, no rubbing off, no irritation, looks natural. Every mascara on the market promises no clumps or globs, but this is the only one I've ever used that actually doesn't clump or glob. There's nothing to list in the "con" column. It was the original lash plumper, but since the term "plumping" was meaningless as a marketing term then, it's not plastered all over the product packaging. Kudos to Max Factor for putting out a 10-star product for less than $6, keeping the original product on the market, and keeping the price low all these years. My highest recommendation.

These are much bigger than their new 'Positively Ageless' daily cleansing pads, which are so small it's really hard to use them. I've tried a ton of products from the Aveeno line because they're supposed to be gentle, and I like the idea of natural ingredients like soy. Every one of them has burned my face, but Positively Radiant burned less than their other cleansing pads. I could almost use these.

I've loved this product for years, and it's made a big difference. It's true that it's treated like a forgotten stepsister to the company's newer, pricier, "high-tech" products that contain way more chemicals and way more irritation, just because it's been around so long. The mere fact that it's been around so long, when companies whip products off the market every minute, is a testament to its effectiveness and popularity. And it's interesting that suddenly the term "liposomes" has made a big comeback. I've tried a ton of eye gels and creams, including others in the L'Oreal line, and every one of them burned, stung, and occasionally caused red blotches. This is the very best I've ever tried, and I've tried some super high-end brands that promise much more. Eye Defense instantly smoothes out fine lines, sinks in and deeply hydrates with no irritation whatsoever. The gel is cooling and refreshing, and the effects are long-lasting. I use liner and shadow under my eyes, and a lot of mascara on my lower lashes, and this product doesn't interfere with the make-up at all. Very highly recommended. CAUTION: there are many other L'Oreal products that come in little white boxes with similar names, including other eye products in the Dermo-Expertise line. Make sure you write down the exact, full name of this product to take with you. TIP: Walgreens has a no-hassle return policy on skincare products at their cosmetic counters. So if it doesn't work out for you, you haven't lost anything.

The sales person @ Sephora suggested She Laq to keep the eyebrow make-up on my blonde brows. When I finally managed to get this overpriced product off with make-up remover, it took a chunk of my brows off with it. Even though it's like superglue, my brows faded underneath it, creating a hideous look. A wax pencil works much better, is cheaper, and doesn't rip your brows off.

Whoever formulated this product long ago is a genius and a saint. I like Clinique's entire skincare and make-up line, and this is hands down my favorite product. Clinique marketed it literally decades before anybody else paid attention to exfoliation, and before anyone ever heard of salicylic acid. It's still the best in the world. It feels "rough" on dry skin, almost like those scratchy apricot scrubs, but is actually very gentle on a wet face. The granules are much finer than the dry product would suggest, dissolving when it hits water. It leaves your skin silky smooth with no residue, without redness, scratching or irritation. As with every other Clinique product, it lasts forever, making it more cost-effective than dirt cheap drugstore scrubs. I frankly don't know how the company even manages to turn a profit. They have a gentler, kinder scrub called 7-Day Scrub Cream. They tag it appropriate for "all skins," but I'd only recommend it for very dry or sensitive skin. It has a fraction of the granules, provides little exfoliation, and the cream base leaves a filmly residue.

Trust me, I wouldn't even think of dropping $38 on foundation if it weren't truly amazing. I sampled this at Sephora, then two seconds later gladly paid the price. I've had the same reaction with all Smashbox products. This is perfect skin in a bottle. Supposedly it was a big Hollywood secret before Sephora brought it to every mall in America, and I believe it. Even though it's oil-free, it glides on smoothly, feels hydrating and blends easily. Beautiful full coverage that lasts until you take it off, and luminosity that produces a glow like no other oil-free product on the planet. No irritation at all, even with SPF, even wearing it a good 12 hours. Causes no problems with problem skin. Anyone can find the perfect color because this creamy product is so smooth and "forgiving." I'm sorry to sound like a commercial, but this stuff is freakin' awesome. Anything that makes my skin look THAT good is worth every dime.

I would be the last person on earth to think just a cleanser could make such significant improvement in my skin. After all, you put it on for only a minute, then wash it all off. And even Lancome doesn't make big claims for this product, just markets it as a gentle, good cleanser among all their other good cleansers, this one also an awesome make-up remover. It starts out luxuriously creamy, then turns to a bubbly foam. It rinses so completely my skin actually audibly squeaks. I saw a big difference in skin tone and texture immediately, with significant brightening and softening, and shrinking of pores. Within a week I started getting "looking younger" remarks. People asked what my "secret" was. Even the heaviest make-up just melts away(no more roughing up eyes with caustic remover on a cotton ball). I would buy this product just as a terrific make-up remover alone. At $24, it's less expensive than most Lancome products. Just a tiny drop is all that's necessary, making it really cost-effective. I also use the oil-free Gel Radiance for exfoliation, use the Pure Focus toner a couple of times a week, and the Pure Focus moisturizer daily. I highly recommend all of them.
