My search for a blue-based red that won't overwhelm fair skin may well be over. Love the light feel of flamenco, but it does wear off quickly. Maybe the sheer ones don't last as long as the satin and semi-matte? Sounds like it's time to buy more product. You know. For science.

Like the York peppermint patty ads of yore, there's a tingling sensation when you plump your pucker with this gloss. The colors are true, last through a glass of water, and leave your lips hydrated. Not too sticky, either. Cherry My Cola is a pretty pink with gold overtones. This is going in my everyday fresh face palette.

I'm a fair-skinned gal, and good old L'Oreal's "light ivory" foundation has been evening out my complexion since I was in high school. This foundation is light, easy to blend with the fingertips (haven't tried a wedge sponge), and comes off with a mild cleanser. I'm not sure how much good the SPF 17 or the Pro-Retinol A do for me, as I probably don't use enough of the product to reap those additives' benefits, but they don't seem to hurt. I especially like this over my primer, Photo Finish by Smashbox.

Love this for situations when makeup really isn't called for, but I'd like to nice-up anyway (read: gym, camping, 6 a.m. run to the store for coffee beans). "Nude" smooths over chappy lips and evens out lip skin tone without trying too hard. Smells good, too-- a light vanilla scent that's not cloying like the Sephora store brand creme lipstick. If I had the chance to give Susie Chapstick a makeover, this would be the product I'd use first.

Mandarin oranges, grapefruit and Meyer lemons come to mind whenever I spray on this uplifting fragrance. It's a good everyday scent that's light enough for a summer garden party or to banish winter blues. However, it's not as long-lasting as I would hope for an eau de parfum. That's my only complaint.

In 20 years of make-up wearing, this is the first mascara that got me to switch from trusty pink-and-green Great Lash. It was a free sample that did it. I have thin, light-colored lashes that are naturally invisible, combined with extremely sensitive eyes. The Stila mascara added volume and length without being clumpy, and didn't bother my peepers. Good stuff.

I wore Clingpeach on my big day, and damn, it did everything I asked it too. Gave me fresh, pretty, understated color, and it lasted for HOURS. Through the kiss, through the line, through the toasts, the dinner and the dancing. Re-applied the gloss in the car between the ceremony and reception and that's it. It did feel a little sandy towards the end of the day, but considering all the pros, well worth one con.

Smells like rosewater, looks natural, begs to be kissed. I took it on my honeymoon and spent more time feeling pretty instead of getting pretty. Yay! (Just get that cap on tight, or your whole make-up bag will be rosey, too.)

Like Tracy says, don't use too much. The first time I used this, I got all excited to have shiny, shiny hair and slopped on a bunch . I ended up looking more like Micky Rourke in the movie "Barfly" than the Breck girl. That said, I tried it again on a very dry day, used only a tiny bit for my whole head, and worked the product through thoroughly. Worked great! I tend to have oily roots and dry ends, and when the humidity is low, I will definitely turn to this product for help.

... well, I'd hope I had some water ... and a multi-tool ... and maybe my husband, but if I got to bring one thing from my daily make-up bag, it would be Smashbox's Photo Finish primer. A free sample a year ago started a daily obsession with this stuff. I have sensitive combination skin and this product works perfectly for me. I used to go shiny by about 3 o'clock every day. No more. The primer is great at both mattifying *and*covering up the annoying little dry flakes that crop up along my chin line whenever it gets windy. Makes my cheap foundation go on smoothly and stay put, too. It only takes a drop or two to cover my whole face, so one bottle lasts about six months. Good deal. Good product.
