This product provides revitalization of the skin by moisturizing, brightening and regulating cell turnover. The 'whitening' label is a misnomer here in the US but is believed by the Japanese. The Super-Hyaluron binds moisture to the skin. EPC-K provides anti-oxidant protection and Arbutin regulates melanin production. The cream is easy to spread, has a delightful texture and a soft, almost undetectable fragrance. The jar is a tactile pleasure to the eyes as well as to the hands but can be slippery at times and maybe difficult to open. The cream when applied VERY (and I mean VERY) sparingly works well for my skin type (Normal Combination) otherwise I experience a certain oily feel on the T-zone especially in the summer months where this cream is difficult to wear here in NY. The price makes it easy to attain. I'd pay any price for a 'whitening moisturizer'. I've had this since it's initial launch in England and it's the better option for me than the other Shiseido lines I have tried (Cle de Peau Beaute, Revital, UV White, qiora and Benefique - I am such a beauty junkie).

Medicated Sekkisei (Cosmetic Lotion)

Great Product

This lotion (in Japan, 'lotion' is the equivalent of a softening lotion here in the U.S., this is not an astringent or toner) is effective in brightening the skin with both immediate and long-term effects. I use this year round and the large-sized bottle last more than a year. I apply this after cleansing the skin. I pour a dollop amount onto my palm and rub my palms lightly then press against my face, chin, neck and decolletage. The routine is so refreshing. The immediate 'brightening' is marvelous.

Shu Uemura UV Under Base SPF 10

Even Base

A little too pricey for a makeup base with poor sun protection. But this product does give you natural, even coverage. It has a refreshing cooling sensation during application and a lightweight feel afterwards. As a L'Oreal brand, shu uemura has furthered most of it's product especially in skincare. There is more to be desired for this makeup base. I am awaiting for sateside sales of s.u. XTR protector spf 50 PA +++ which is a great suncare product that doubles as a base.
