I am having thinning hair and also its breaking and I am having so many short hairs popping out all our my head. What should I do about this and what are the best products?

Re: Hair breakage

I'm sorry to hear this. It may be hormonally caused, you may be experiencing a lot of stress, or you may be lacking B Vitamins. Take a regular daily vitamin and a POTENT B-Complex for skin, hair, and nails. You may want to try Nioxin for awhile to allow short hairs to grow in (I did and it worked). Make sure you are not washing too frequently (every two to three days at most), Deep-condition regularly. Sleep on a satin pillowcase to stop breakage. Never tug on hair--use a wide-toothed combed when dealing with it. Switch hair dryers to an Ionic one which takes longer to work but causes less damage. When you shampoo, keep the temperature of the water cool. Let me know how this works for you! I have other products in mind if you don't like Nioxin.

I agree with everything DivaRose says (great tips!)...As a deep conditioner I highly recommend DHC rich and moisturizing conditioner. It's sooo gentle, hydrating and smells like roses. I wish it was on this site so that I could recommend. It comes in a pink tube. Check it out. If you dont want to buy a product, I recommend soaking your hair in olive oil...Other than that, follow Diva's tips.

DHC's conditioner IS AMAZING! I highly recommend it.

Thank you so much for the advice. I am going to try it out. This started after my delivery. I would like to try Nioxin but I am still nursing so I wonder if its ok to use.

Do hair vitamins really work? What difference do you see?

When looking for a great B Vitamin, make sure it contains Biotin, Niacinamide, Inositol, and Folic Acids. Get a potent formula.

Vitamins work like nothing else! When I don't take a strong B complex (along with a daily vitamin, a high-potency Vitamin C, etc.), my nails peel, my hair breaks, and my nose actually bleeds because of an inherited weak vessel. It doesn't bleed with vitamins (they repair tissue). And black-and-blue marks disappear. Beauty starts from within. You'd faint if you knew my entire regimen, including COQ10 and Hyaluronic Acid, but I am continually stopped and asked why my hair is so shiny and I have NO wrinkles anywhere.

Re: Hair breakage

I have the same problem. I went to three doctors. I have alopecia arette. I was told to use the hair growth treatment sold over the counter. I was prescribed a steroid cream and have the option of injections into the scalp. Not for me! Viviscal is a bit pricey but does work well. Good luck! I hope you find something that works.

Try biotin! It's a great hair vitamin.

Biotin is a B Vitamin. You didn't mention that this happened after delivering--congratulations! The cause is evidentally hormonal (my mom's hair turned completely curly after having me). Ask you doctor about the safety of Nioxin. I'm THRILLED for you!
