Lipcolor that stays

Hi. I have an unusual problem. My lip products never stay on my top lip but are fine on the bottom. Any tips? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Re: Lipcolor that stays

You may find this hard to believe, but I'm going to give you the name of a lipstick I guarantee you'll love (I've been reviewing beauty products online for thirteen years and have tried every brand, from the most expensive possible to those in drugstores). Visit The Vermont Country Store online and look for "Tangee Color-Changing Lipstick." (I know, I know, you're thinking I've lost my mind). It appears a bold orange but will adjust itself to your own color (it becomes a gentle pink/mauve on me). Not only it is moisturizing, but it lasts forever--both top and bottom lips. I use it as a base for other lipsticks as well. For $14.95, you can't go wrong. And I would never steer you wrong. It is always with me and I could not recommend it more highly!

Thank you so much for the tip! I will definitely have to try that! Your reply is much appreciated! Have a great week! :)

Re: Lipcolor that stays

I know I'm just a newbie, but I get stopped daily (especially sorority sisters) that swear I always have lipstick on and want to know my secret. And honestly, my big secret is that I use cheap lipstick. The cheap brands tend to stain my lips to where it looks like I'm constantly reapplying my lipstick.

#1 Tip: Make sure you exfoliate your lips (Bliss has a great exfoliator , worth the money) and then make sure to keep them well balmed at all times (Carmex is awesome and cheap...any flavor at your local drugstore though cherry is my favorite). #2 Drugstore Product: I agree with the other that cheaper lipsticks have as much staying power as the more expensive and for that, I'll say my favorite drugstore brand is Covergirl Blast Flipstick. I have the color "Flashy" which is a lighter pink on one side and a darker fuschia/purple on the other. These are meant to be mixed, but I put the light pink on my bottom lip and the dark pink on the top. Eventually they will mix together...but the darker on top gives it lasting power and the lighter pink on the bottom can fade a little. I get so many compliments on this lipstick and it really stays until you want to take it off! #3 High End Product: Nars Velvet Matte Chunky Lip Pencil. I've never been able to find a well pigmented red that stays on until I want to remove it...well, I never found it in a tube BUT I was able to find it in a pencil. I find that pencils generally stay better but this one is phenomenal. I use "Dragon Girl"...definitely a universally flattering siren red. Love it. In general, don't use gloss with your lipstick (unless you really have to) and always use a lipliner around your lips. For better staying power use the liner under your lipstick, it shouldn't budge.

Re: Lipcolor that stays

I find that exfoliating lips first helps with lipstick staying power. Also, as far as lipstick lasting, I use lip stains. I particularly like the Kat Von D line. They are applied with a sponge tip. They do, however, feel dry on my lips. So, I always add a stroke of lip gloss to add shine and moisture. Or, I apply lip balm, and then the stain.
