I'm a asian with a oil slick for a forehead, and in searching skin care tips and product recommendations I noticed that most of the articles are for westerners. The chemicals compositions of the products in the articles would cause skin irritations or not be as effective for my skin type.
Asians tend to have thicker skin, hyperpigmetation issues, and enlarged pores dues to oily skin. And using products with alcohol or salicylic acid can dry our skin and irritate it, or worst have the opposite effect and cause more breakouts.
I would appericate it if you had a skin care article on what to look for in products that are more suited for asian type skin.
3 RepliesI also have oily forehead, but normal for the rest of my face. I'd like a great facial cleanser recommendation if anyone has one.
I too have very oily skin and my makeup stylist recommend me to do toning, moisturizing and cleansing once in a week. Also scrubbing your face daily is essential for oily skin.
I have a combination oily/normal skin with a massive t-zone. That means my forehead and nose get oily easily and stay like that throughout the day. Mostly there is no way to get rid of oily skin and you should be happy for it unless it causes you acne. Use oil balancing cleansers and creams to help delay the oiliness from appearing. I like organic products like ole henricksen, origins or soy. I have had very bad experiences with any of the nuetregena cleansers even the one made for oil control are too creamy themselves so avoid. If your not living in a cold climate and your skin can take it I suggest using gel based creams and serums as they again will delay the oil from forming. Clinique has a good one so does Perricone MD and Ole has a great serum. But try and see what suits you. I myself dont regularly use a toner but it is recommended. The body shop has these nice tea tree oil removing wipes I like that can be used during the day to remove the oiliness. Hope this helps!!!
