I want to know whats a good mascara avaliable at target!
9 RepliesI have 2 suggestions. First, Target carries e.l.f. cosmetics and I would suggest the Mineral Infused Mascara for $3.00.

For me, Mascara and lipstick are the most important cosmetics for the face. If I had to choose just one, it would be mascara. By the way, you didn't ask, and probably don't care, but my favorite lipstick is Loreal Infallible in the flat, mirrored case with the top coat included as well. I love this one because unlike the others, the top coat is not overly shiny and sticky but moisturizing with a nice low sheen. You can always add lip gloss on top for extra shine. It is phenominal in that it gives your lips a younger look, especially if you have dry skin from age or climate and lines in your lips. Regular lipstick gathers in the dry skin and lines and looks just awful. I have sworn off regular tube lipstick forever! Anyway, back to the subject at hand and no, I do not work for Loreal or know anyone who does, just happen to love their products.
Loreal Double Extend mascara, waterproof, is the most perfect mascara I have ever used and I have been around awhile. It comes in non-waterproof as well but I still don't understand why anyone would not want a waterproof formula as it gets you through crying spells, swimming, sweating, etc. without giving you black raccoon eyes, irritating your eyes and causing you to look, well...you know! It is also so much better for us contact wearers as well. I think what scares many off is that it is a more difficult to remove. The key is to apply a good waterproof mascara remover, I use the Almay waterproof remover pads (or baby oil) and let it soak a few minutes before attempting to remove it. Don't pull at lashes as you will lose them. If it still isn't all off, just repeat the process until it is. Patience. It is so worth it to me. Remember to never sleep in mascara of any kind or you will lose many more lashes than normal. This Double Extend formula has a white base coat on one end and the black (or whatever color) on the other end. It is very important to let the white base coat dry for a few minutes before applying the mascara. This is where most make a mistake, by applying it right after and before it is dry. Also, make sure to use an eyelash curler BEFORE you apply the first primer coat and mascara. If you use one afterward, I have found it breaks off lashes and causes your lashes not to look as good. Another thing, make sure your lashes are completely dry before curling and applying mascara. The main thing about this mascara is the outcome. With just one coat you will have the longest most beautiful lashes. If you want them more extreme, apply addtional coats but only after drying between coats.
I owned my own salon for years, modeled, did tv comercials and so, was exposed to the cosmetic industry. I have been very pleased with most all Loreal products I have tried. I have found they compete with the high priced department store brands. Believe me, I have wasted a lot of money on those. You may know it already, but Lancome and Loreal are, kind of, one in the same company. I expect Loreal products may be almost identical to many of the Lancome products...but for much less money. Before I used Loreal I used Lancome waterproff mascara for years. I found the Loreal waterproof mascaras seemed identical to Lancome. The difference was about 20.00. The Loreal mascara runs around 9.00 to 10.00. Of course, the packaging may not be as fancy! A side note, I find all the the highly pigmented Loreal HIP eyeshadows, eyeliners, lip glosses, etc. to be excellent.
So much money is wasted in this country on expensive cosmetics, when, if one would do some research, they could save so much money. Save that money and still have fun buying cosmetics. Search online, you can get better prices yet. This is just my opinion. I'm sure there are many other good mascara products out there as well that you can buy at Target. Double Extend, waterproof, black (and I am a blonde) just happens to be my favorite.
Are you near a Walgreen's? They have Jordana mascara near the beauty register...its just a few dollars and gets rave reviews.
Being an older woman, I am "old School" & started wearing make-up in the 60's. I have never been let down by Maybelline! They have several styles of Mascarra & to quote an old slogan they used way back then "fine make-up, sensibly priced"!
Rimmel Extra Super Lash always gets my vote - it separates so beautifully that I rarely bother with a lash comb, and hides any areas on my lashline that are looking a bit thin. Also, it has a thicker consistency, so it doesn't undo the boost I get from my lash curler the way other mascaras would. I always stock up when it's on sale!
I agree on the Loreal Double Extend waterproof mascara in black! It's wonderful!! Great Lash I dislike very much but others love it. To me Loreal definitely has the best mascaras. Even better than expensive brands.

L'Oreal Voluminous is one of the best mascaras out there, regardless of price. I honestly feel that it's even better than Benefit badGal mascara.
a lot of people get great results with maybelline great lash
I happen to agree that I find little difference between Lancome and L'Oreal products----just the price. I have been a staunch Lancome mascara fan for years---until I tried one of the L'Oreal mascaras and found them to be almost the same. I will still splurge on Lancome mascara when they are running a real good promotion though.
