ok, there is a craze over here about this product "Blemish Balm".. its a moisturizer, SPF and a whole load of other good things for you skin while giving it a tint of colour & glow! sounds like a brilliant, handy product & Garnier are doing an affordable option at €20 (aorund $25?) but I was wondering do any fellow members know of this stuff? If so, which brand makes have you tried and which ones would you recommend?
10 RepliesI did a lot of research on bb (blemish balm) cream before I actually bought one. I saw the Boscia one at Sephora for about $35-ish, but was skeptical. I have rather large pores and when I found out about this product, I was very intrigued. Supposedly, all the Korean actresses and models use BB creams to make their skin look smooth and effortless without any air brushing. I found Cynthia Truong's blog (I forgot the link, sorry) and she is really into BB Creams and has done a lot of reviews on them. However, the more I looked into it, the more intrigued I was about two certain ones. Liole and SkinFood. The Liole one is more effective in covering pores and provides full coverage and the SkinFood one has SPF and contains ingredients excellent for your skin. Outta curiosity, I looked them up on Ebay and found them for about $5-$7 each. I purchased them and they were shipped out to me from Korea and the ingredients and directions are all in Korean but I have a friend who is fluent and she assured me everything was safe. So far...I really like the SkinFood one. It's really great. It does do what all BB Creams promise. I don't have to use my moisturizer, primer, or any base. This one product does do it all for me at least. I tried the Boscia one from my cousin and I have to say, I really like my SkinFood one much more. THe Liole one was too thick for me.
Brilliant, thanks for getting back to me! I definetly will be investing in some of this product too, if it reduces the size of pores fingers crossed it reduces the number of breakouts and pimples I get? sounds like it is worth the investment! :)
thanks again!
I've tried the Garnier one. It's supposed to be a 2 in one skincare and foundation, but honestly, I wasn't too impressed by it. It was more like a tinted moisturizer and left my skin looking really dewy- almost shiny. I haven't tried the ones from Sephora yet- I know Smashbox just came out with one and so did Clinique.

Blemish/Beauty Balm, etc. I've tried many of them. I was disappointed with Miracle Skin, but I'm kind of digging the new Smashbox BB cream. I know that BB creams were big in Asia before they started appearing more commonly elsewhere. I expect more brands to come out with BB creams this year or next as the next big trend in makeup.
Smashbox have a version out? I love smashbox products, defintely will give it a go too! I don't know if you have this brand called "17" in the US but they have released a real purse friendly version the last few days.. might give it a go before investing in Smashbox :)
I actually bought blemish balm years ago from Mischa. I ordered numerous tones and unfortunately I could never find the right shade. I'm fair and yellow. Most bb creams are greyish-pinkish-beigeish. As for the coverage and quality? Loved it. It goes on so nice, makes it look as though you have new skin. It's buildable and feels nice. I really liked it but as I said, not the right shade at all so I have since then found Dinair airbrush systyem of which I cannot live without.
I am actually ordering this stuff tomorrow, just based on this super short discussion! this stuff sounds awesome, and I can't wait to try it.
Yes, I live here in Malaysia and BB cream is booming here.. and everywhere else. However, I have never tried it but I have found out that is for Asian skin. Perhaps, not suitable for dark skin like mine. I prefer using tinted moisturizers like Olay. Almost every brand have BB Cream.... the choice is a-plenty...
BB creams are pretty much tinted moisturizers with added benefits. I just bought my first BB cream from Garnier. It has a tad more coverage than regular tinted moisturizers but I haven't used it long enough to see results. Since I live in Texas, the whole BB cream craze just reached us. I've already seen that they are available at Sephora and Ulta, but I normally don't buy from there often.
Although, I do hear that BB creams brand straight from Korea, where it originated from, work way better than the US versions, and they can be purchased from their online stores, Ebay, or Amazon.
I bought the Garnier one too! Its not too bad for the inexpensive price tag? Tinted moisturizer doesnt seem to give me as good a coverage as BB does so it wasnt a bad purchase! I think I might look into investing into Too Faced's BB or Smashbox's next now that I know it does suit my skin. I would love to stuff the Korean BB as I too have heard that its the proper stuff but I am just a little anxious about the ingrediants.. that might sound silly though?
