Makeup
I don't know about you guys, but when it comes to eye makeup I'm a lost cause. That being the case, I was super excited when I saw this eyeliner how to guide on our site! It has some really great eye makeup tips and has makeup advice for everyone - beginner to expert.
Do you have any tips or tricks you can share?
4 RepliesI'm not that great either! I just started to wear eyeliner and I find my biggest problem is doing one eye great and the other (my left) not so great! I cannot get em both the same EVER....any tips for this problem would be awesome. I'm super scared to try the cat eye or anything but basic because of this for sure.
have found that a soft kohl pencil sharpened to a really sharp point is the best way to control eyeliner pencil. Because kohl is soft, it can be blended with a sponge. A really good sharpener is Urban Decay's Grindhouse. I paid a little more for this, but it is worth it because it really sharpens. It also has two sized holes for different sized pencils.
Personally I hate liquid liner. I think it looks too harsh, unless it is used only on the top lashline with false eyelashes.
I agree, liquid eyeliner is a no-go! It is very hard to fix any little mistakes you might have made with liquid liner I find. Kohl pencil & I find gel eyeliner are the best.
Also, when applying you liner to the top lid NEVER EVER drag it across in a continuous line. This will leave it all bumpy. Try makeing tiny little dabbing dots close to your lashes and then smudge them together, with a small tipped angle-tipped brush. Depending on how dramatic you want your line to be will depend on how much you smudge the liner.
Hope this helps!
There are lots of tips and tricks... but honestly, I find that practice makes perfect. Trying different brushes, different brands, different formulas, and then just working on getting the hang of it!
