Icky icky underarms!

So probably not the best title, but anyway.  I need help guys!  No matter what I do, use or not use my underarms continuely are broken out!  I've swichted deordorants, tried using shave cream for sensitive skin, used "all natural" shave cream, used only an electric razor, everything but waxing & there is NO way I can stand to let the hair grow long enough for that.  Please help, any suggestions on anything I can use?  Not only is this very ugly, but often is very uncomfortable too!

Re: Icky icky underarms!

try a all natural deoderant. I like Toms of Maine in Fresh Apricot. You can get it at Target, CVS, and places like that- and it is only a few bucks.

You underarms are probably having an allergic reaction to the aluminum in the deoderant you are using. A natural deoderant will not have aluminum, and will actually be good for you:)

Re: Icky icky underarms!

I've found putting a moisturizing cream like cocoa butter can help too. I use Jason's Cocoa Butter Cream underneath my arms after I shower at night and some days I don't even need to apply deodorant if it isn't a high intensity day. Good luck!

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions guys!  I did pick up Almay Hypoallergenic fragrance free gel today.  Although I normally hate gels I'm desperate.  I'll definitely do a review of it once I've used it for enough time.

I think I would stay clear of any type of shaving products that have a lot moisturizers. See if you can find a non-comodogenic (nonclogging) formula. I would try to shave at night, don't put anything on after you shave (lotion or deodorant) and then in the morning put on your deodorant. See if that make any difference. I find my skin to be super sensitive right after I shave and often can't stand the deodorant, because it stings.

Re: Icky icky underarms!

I suggest trying Certain-Dri deoderant/ anti-perspirant. You can find it at Target, Wal-mart etc. It's pretty strong & is designed so that one application lasts 72 hours & it's unscented. I never had break-outs on my underarms but I did sometimes get dry skin & switching to this deordorant seems to have helps. Also, I pluck instead of shaving so I never get irritation. If however, you would rather not pluck you could try threading which is kind of like waxing but you don't need to wait for hair to get long; it works on tiny stubble. They usually do this at salons.

Re: Icky icky underarms!

The one deodorant my husband can use is Arm & Hammer baking soda deodorant.  A two percent otc cortisone cream might help during breakouts.
