And what in your opinion is the best for drinking and like, cereal, and whats the best for cooking. I honestly dont really like normal milk, and i dont feel that milk is made for humans, just for calfs. And also, this Got Milk? ad kinda pushed me over the edge on hating milk: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/12/pms-milk-sexist_n_896333.html I heard almond milk is the best for drinking. And also, vanilla flavored vs Normal flavored?
Much Love!

9 RepliesI like almond milk for cereal (and Blue Diamon makes an amazing chocolate almond milk that is great for desert). For my coffee, I actually prefer the organic soy milk coffee creamer from Trader Joe's. I know that is very specific, but I haven't found anything else quite like it. I'm lactose intolerant so I can't drink any cow milk ... only some goat milk.
Good luck!
I've tried soy milk and it was ghastly. I think I'm still a bit too young for it, as much as I would like to adopt more/better eating habits. I'm hoping my taste buds will change soon to allow me to tolerate it better.
I've been drinking almond milk for the past two years or so, and I honestly can't really drink anything else at this point. My favorite brand is Almond Breeze, and usually I get the Unsweetened Vanilla flavor. The vanilla flavor just adds a hint of sweetness, without adding sugar. I use it mostly in cereal, but I've been putting in in smoothies a lot lately.
I've tried soy milk, and the vanilla isn't bad. But for all around use I prefer almond milk. Doesn't work in recipes at all, but for everything else it's great!
I tried Soy milk and it wasn't gross but I wasn't really thrilled with it. I have always wanted to try coconut milk though. Probably not in my cereal though.
Goat milk is supposed to be the closest substitute to the human milk you have when you're a baby. It has a very similar makeup in nutrients. It tastes a lot like whole milk - although more buttery. It's worth trying once...but in terms of health - it's as good as it gets. The other types of milk leave key nutrients out.
I grew up drinking soy milk as well as regular milk, so I don't have an aversion to the taste. Chocolate soy milk tastes similar enough to regular chocolate milk if you're looking for a flavored variety. I personally like to use Silk Light Vanilla soymilk because it's lower in calories but still flavored and sweetened. I've also tasted Almond Milk (it's okay) and Coconut milk (also okay), but I don't loooove them. Almond milk is really low cal, but I like that soymilk has some protein in it (I'm vegetarian). I'd recommend just going to the store and trying different ones! Sometimes you can buy a small carton. Vanilla flavor usually tastes better if you're just going to have a glass of it.
I drink the Silk Vanilla Almond Milk with cereal and also the Silk Vanilla Coconut Milk with cereal and use these when I bake as well. I've tried the regular Almond Milk and Coconut Milk but I personally like the Vanilla taste added to them a little bit more than plain. I also love to drink the Silk Dark Chocolate Almond Milk with treats like cookies or cake. I love dark chocolate and the taste of this milk with the treats is a good combination. I personally don't like the taste of regular cows milk so I switched to the Silk Milks and they have Vitamin D and Calcium so it made me feel better about my switch. My husband likes the Silk Chocolate Soy milk and I like that one too.
