I've been trying to get in the habit of applying lotion after I shower, but I rarely keep up with the routine for more than 2 weeks because it don't get any results. I don't necessarily have dry skin, I'm more so looking for something to keep my skin firm and smooth.. do you ladies have any recommendations for body lotions? preferably one that absorbes within a fair amount of time and has no "sticky" feeling after the product has settled and absorbed into the skin. Thank you!
11 RepliesStop using lotion, use cream. I always mix a bit of oil with the cream, and does it ever absorb. I use Neutrogena Sesame oil, or an essential oil, mix with the cream by placing it in your hand to warm it, and put it on and you will be really moisturized. ULTA sells some wonderful body creams, and right now they have a special - buy two bath products and get two free. I love the Citrus.
I guarantee this works. You can get essential oils at Aveda, Yves Roche, Drugstore.com or just do a Google search or simply use the Neutrogena oil. I massage the products into my body to maximize moisturization.
I would recommend Kiehl's Creme De Corps Lightweight Body Lotion ($22). It is extremely moisturizing and doesn't leave a sticky/thick feeling afterwards! I use it after the shower :)
I like Olay's Quench Daily Moisture (off the top of my head I think that's the name). It comes in a purple pump bottle, and I think it replaced the Quench Age Defying Body Lotion. It has Vit E & B3 in it. Absorbs fast and still feels soft the next day, albeit with a tiny bit of sparkle on your skin.
I also like Bath & Body Works lotions and creams, if you like the scented stuff. They are rich and the scent is still there the next day, unlike the cheaper kind.
I appreciate the suggestions! thanks, ladies:)
I use Omorovicza Firming Body Oil. It does not feel greasy and aborbs easily.
I'm actually more of a fan of body oil. Neutrogena makes a great dry body oil that I love.
I like Mirra Renew Conditioning Lotion in Japenese Yuzu Scent. They are really cheap- you can get them online or if you have a Kroger Grocery.
Maybe your shower products are too drying/not moisturizing enough?
BioKoriums 5% or 7% Glycolic Body lotion

I agree the shower or gels may be your problem. Just rinse your body sometimes and you can back off the lotion. WATER IS YOUR ENEMY NOT THE SUN. Water Dehydrates kills the skin, Sun is Nourishing to the skin VitaminD.
I really like the body butters from Bath and Body Works. I think one of the tricks is to get one that smells great so that when you put it on it's like putting on perfume so it's sort of one less step to take, haha. What I do is go when BBW has the deal of buy 2 get one free. That way I can buy the moisturing shower lotion and then follow it with the body butter.
I also really like the stuff from Cake. It's mostly natural too, so I've been trying to use more of it and get away from some of the more processed stuff. I tried the Desserted Island lotion scented one at my friend's the other day, which ended up being AMAZING so I actually ended up ordering a gift pack of it off eBeauty.ca this morning. I haven't tried the body wash yet soo I'm hoping it's as good as BBW in terms of being as moisturizing because I think the key is to use both!
