Makeup
Apply all of your creams and serums. Then apply your favorite foundation. I use Benefit and ULTA products. Put "Dandelion" all over your face for a nice glow. Follow with Ulta loose mineral powder. Always apply powder with a brush, preferably a kabuki brush. AND, don't forget your neck for all facial products. Don't forget undereye concealer.
Blush - I use Benefit Sugar Bomb layered with Bella Bamba. You can also layer on a bronzer. For all of this, use only a little product.
The secret is layering with any cosmetic and fragrance. I create my own unique lipstick and gloss by layering. I create my own fragrance by layering on my favorite notes of floral fragrances - Juicy Couture, Brtiney Spears Circus, Marc Jacobs Daisy Kim Kardashian, and a couple of Ed Hardy floral fragrances. I get more compliments on my fragrance than you would believe.
My blush is layered, resulting in a nice glow. Just don't apply too much or you'll look like a clown.
I am a cosmetology student (after being a paralegal for 20 years.) I feel fortunate to be able to share what I do and learn about makeup. I am also an Allstar with Total Beauty, so you can trust my advice.
8 RepliesThanks for those tips! I also like to use Urban Decay's All Nighter setting Spray after I finish applying all my makeup... I don't really believe that this product actually works for "16 hours," but it definitely helps makeup stay on for 4-5 hours (really good if you're out dancing!) Only $30 and you can get it at Sephora :)
Thanks for sharing! I am definitely going to invest in a kabuki brush! And I will check out
Urban Decay's All Nighter setting spray as well :)
Great tips! I also find that using a primer before applying my foundation helps it last longer. I'm currently using Too Faced primer, it was a bit of bronzer in it too which gives you a nice hint of color (I apply it on my neck too so I don't get that weird line on my jaw).
Actually finding a good foundation! One that doesn't look terrible by the end of the day. That helps all the other makeup stay put as well. MAC ProLongwear has changed my life :)
If you're looking for something inexpensive you can always try using Mylanta. I saw it on a Tyra Banks show, she said the drag queens taught her that trick when you want to "beat your face", as in, layering on that makeup real thick to make it last. It is used as a primer and also, I've read that it can improve acne. So there's multiple benefits.
Apply this over and under makeup. Voila.
So helpful!
