115 RepliesI use Burt's Bees original lip balm every day. I use it after brushing my teeth, before going out into the cold, after eating and before bedtime to keep my lips soft and supple.
I'm old and have fine lines around my lips--to prevent bleeding I apply my makeup onto my lips then apply my lipstick and liner on top--this helps my lipstick stay in place and prevents the bleeding.
My lip tip is to make sure you remember SPF for your lips too, they can burn anytime of year.
I always use a lip plumping gloss like my faves from Buxom!
I use Avon's lip conditioner for my lips. Best thing I've ever found. I have rather large lips so I make a point to take care of them.
I brush them lightly with my toothbrush as I'm doing my final 'going out' freshen up. Use the Revlon lip stain, then a Purple Labs lip plumper.
I buy lip liners in great colors, then find tinted lip balms/non-sticky glosses to match. I line my lips (softly!), then fill them in with the pencil, then swipe them with balm/gloss to moisten and soften the look a bit more. They barely need touching up for hours!
To make sure your color is deposited evenly & does not sink into the lines of your lips you must exfoliate them before applying your primer, liner & lipstick. My favorite lip scrub is castor sugar & grape seed oil. Sometimes I will add a drop of cinnamon oil to the mix so it plumps my lips a bit too! Just try not to eat it before it sinks into the skin because it tastes delicious! :]
My lip tip is to blot my lipstick with a tissue to give it a more natural finish (or stain-like finish).
i exfoliate my lips with a soft bristle toothbrush and some vasiline for smooth kissable lips ;)
