skin care confusion

I am a college student with some skin problems, typical. I have sensitive skin to start with and I have breakouts that I have had constantly for upwards of four years not that will not go away! The thing that really bothers me is that the majority of my breakouts are small and under the skin and are aplified when I put on make-up. They are all over my face, even under my eyes and they wont go away. I have tried everything, but maybe Im trying the wrong types of things. I use a Biore cleanser now, and Retin-A cream which i got from a dermatologist. Its been three months and nothing, still getting new pimples even. I tried neutrogena's acne wash and clearsil and cetaphil and a green tea cleanser, which was also gotten from a dermatologist, but nothing. I have not worn any make-up for the past month. :' (   But I really want to get my skin clear before I start again. Any advice on what I should be using; cleanser, acne wash? Thanks!

Re: skin care confusion

Has  eczema been rulled out as a possibility? I have found when I get tiny bumps that sort of look like pimples but not really it is a mild case of eczema. I have found the Eucerin Calming Creme works really well.

Good luck!!

re skin care confusion

more options to soothe the skin is Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion or just plain cocoa butter

Re: skin care confusion

I used Omorovicza Cleansing Milk.  It did not do anything on my friend's skin but it did great on mine.

Similar problem on chin

I started getting these skin colored bumps on my chin a few weeks ago and noticed that it wouldn't be that obvious without makeup but with makeup, like you, it make it so visible! What I did was make sure to wash my face before bed and in addition to that washed my pillow cases.  I had been trying out a new hair product and I was worried that it had transferred onto my pillows and on my face! I also abandoned a new foundation I had been trying that wasn't oil-free.  I also used Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Moisture night cream only on my chin for about a week every night. My chin started to peel, the bumps seemed to get a little swollen but afterward went away. It no longer bothers me! I'd say pay attention to your skin care routines and makeup products. If you started using something new try not using it for a while and see if it clears up.
