Egg white facial mask & cold tea bags

My mom used to save the egg whites to use as a mask.  It's supposed to be especially good for oily skin.  You leave it on till it stiffens, then rinse with cool water.  Supposed to tighten your pores and get rid of dirt, etc. too.

I've tried it, and it seems to work well but I don't eat eggs much at all anymore.  Besides, I now have dry skin, and it would feel too "tight" to do that.

Cold tea bags, esp. from black teas, reduces undereye puffiness.  The coolness will also help wake you up, or relax you...whatever you need.  This is also something mom does.  Those generations of women before us know so many things we don't!  And for many years and even centuries, they did not have the products we have today.  So home remedies were it!

Cool idea.  I recently tried a simple mask after I had some wind burn on my face.

1 cup of plain greek yougurt

1/2 cup of oatmeal

1 tablespoon of honey.

You can actually eat the leftovers too.  It really moisturizes your skin.

I have totally tried the tea bag thing and it works WONDERS! I recommend it to anyone that has extremely puffy eyes (works for bags and above the eyelid too!) :)

Re: Egg white facial mask & cold tea bags

Thanks for the tips... And especially thanks to Tracy for the mask recipe!! I've been looking for one recently that I could do with items I already have in my kitchen & your recipe is it :) Can't wait to try it. Also -- as far as the tea bags over your eyes, green tea seems to work best for me (and my gal pals who also swear by this remedy). You don't need to buy the fancy, more expensive tea either. I just buy the store brand since I'm not actually drinking it ;) Hope this helps ;)
