Anyone out there have any tips to get rid of zits fast? I'm pretty lucky and don't get breakouts too often (thanks to my dermatologist, love her!) but of course I have a lovely zit on my chin, just in time for my engagement photos this weekend. Soooo, any help would be much appreciated! Also, any tips to quickly heal a zit you just couldn't resist popping? (Yes, I know it's bad, can't help it.)
8 RepliesHi there-
I'm like you, pretty blessed not to get too many zits. However, here are some natural remedies:
* Spot treatments with tea tree oil
* The old remedy of toothpaste! Contrary to popular belief, any old toothpaste won't do. Look for an all natural brand like The Natural Dentist
* Pure Organic Manuka Honey - kills the bacteria that causes pimples
* Brown sugar - Surprise! It's a natural source of glycolic acid
Obviously, nothing is a real quick fix but these natural remedies help speed up the healing process.

I've totally used tea tree oil with success before. I've also read that witch hazel can do wonders though I haven't tried it personally. Worst comes to worse there is always Photoshop.
Thanks! I've heard honey has anti-bacterial properties, but I'd be worried something that sticky would make me break out more. Have you tried it? The brown sugar one is interesting -- although I'd have to stop myself from just eating it :)
Really? Sugar? I thought sugar made you break out more? no?
According to my friend, Panoxyl works really fast and it's good for pimple scars, too.
Mash up an aspirin & with a small amount of water, make a paste and put it on the inflamed area. Within 8 hours the inflamation will be gone. The best time to do this would be at bed time.
I usually take a cotton swab and dab a little eyedrops on my popped zit during the day and it usually heals pretty fast without much pain. And to prevent scarring I use a tea tree oil mask on the zit at nite.
I have oily, acne prone skin and I can say that honey doesn't break me out. I usually make a mask by forming a paste of 2-3 non coated asprin tablets and honey. The asprin has salicylic acid in them and the honey is anti-bacterial and moisturizing, but not to moisturizing that it makes my skin oilier. Hope it helps!
