This product is for use on dry hair, you rub a dime size amount between your hands until it becomes clear then you go underneath you hair and spread it around where you want volume.  It does add volume and you are able to mess with your hair throughout the day to revive it but I still need a hairspray to get the style to hold for any length of time.  My hair is fine and straight and a lot of these products just weight it down.  This does not weigh it down but it doesn't last for a work day.
