Hi everyone, Just to give a little background I've always had really short hair, but the more it seems to grow the more hair I seem to loose. Is this normal? I'm concerned this could be related to my health since I'm waiting to have gallbladder surgery in a few weeks and I'm not at my physical peak. Does this seem likely? I've never noticed shedding before besides washing, and brushing but lately I've been spacing out my showers 2-3 days and rarely using heat to style and it even falls out during the day just running my hands through it! Should I get it cut short again or go see my doctor? Any ideas??
4 RepliesI am so sorry to hear about the gallbladder problem. Before I had mine removed, I was so nauseated that I could barely eat. If your diet is deficient in much-needed vitamins, that could be the problem. ANY medications you take affect hair. I had Prednisone shots in my head, neck, and nape for occipital nerve pain which caused horrific headaches. It wreaked horrible havoc with my hair! My hairdresser didn't know about the shots and asked, "Are you on some kind of medication?" I don't want to alarm you, but it shouldn't fall out when you run your hands through it, especially if it's not long. Just to make sure you're okay, see your doctor and have bloodwork done. Also, stress will cause shedding; have you been under duress of any kind? I truly wish you all good luck and hope to be hearing back that you're just fine!
On average, an individual can lose anywhere from 50 to 80 hair-strands a day. I would say speak to your doctor and try to de-stress.

Hi Jane, You should ask specialists or a doctor, more precisely because too much hair loss is often associated with health problem, by the way try to find tips or remedies for it.
