Skin after baby?

I am 25 and I had my son (first child!) 10 months ago.  I was a smoker until the day I found out I was pregnant.  Over the past couple of months I have noticed a serious decline in my over all appearance, I feel like I look OLD.  My skin looks worn out, I have lines around my mouth and eyes... I look dull.  I have tried switching to different cleansers, and exfoliating (more AND less).  I can't figure out how to get my skin back to how it was.  I have even started to break out more, not white heads or black heads but little skin colored pimples without a head on them?  Can anyone recommend any solution for me?  Be it a product or a diet change?

Congratulations on your little one! That's wonderful news! I would think the change to your skin was hormonally induced. When my mom gave birth to me, her hair became much curlier. A friend of mine lost all of her body hair after childbirth. Please check with your physician for bloodwork and a check of your hormones. Then take it from there. I wish you the best of luck!

I just had my son 2 weeks ago and my skin is super dull right now and breaking out. its all our hormone levels bouncing around. Once things balance out it should be better.

I will definitely do that I feel like I should have balanced out by now so maybe there is some weird issue going on. Thanks!

Congratulations for both of you then! I’ve got two children now and the same thing happened to me some years ago. I woke up in the morning and found unsightly lines on my face, it was so discouraging. Fortunately, I found the best way to get rid of it; I simply use “tea”, green tea, which worked perfectly. Yet, now I’m still using this kind of natural remedy.

Re: Skin after baby?

I just had a baby January 3rd and the beginning of the pregnancy I felt like i was a high school kid again even though then i didn't have acne but i started to break out then it went away now that i had my daughter i am finding little red raised bubbles on my face but with a newborn i am not keeping up with my daily routine. I use my Mia 2 i received as a Christmas gift and then coconut oil after.. i found this to help and my acne scars on my cheek even diminished a little also! The only thing i am fighting is dry skin that doesn't want to go away no matter what i do! One thing you can try is steam your face either heat up a wash rag or hold your face over the sink and run hot water...or even the shower...then mix sugar with olive oil and lightly rub in circular motions you can also add some lemon juice.... don't exfoliate too much this can irritate the skin causing more break outs try different amounts of oil vs sugar and lemon juice to see what ratio works best. Drinks lots of water which you probably already know .... and watch in your diet what you eat and howyour skin reacts to this sometimes diary or chocolate seems to make me break out!
