Makeup
I have had kp-keratosis pilaris aka "Chicken skin" since I was a little girl...Gross bumps all over my upper arms and upper legs...They do not itch or hurt, but they leave my skin dry, and quite frankly, UGLY. I am so jealous of other men and women that have soft skin that looks normal, and wish I could have that also. I have tried chemical peels from a dermatologist, using certain products, and just time, and nothing works. Any ideas/advice/true miracle products that get rid of it?!? Please help! I am willing and able to do crazy things or buy whatever if these remedies actually work...
6 RepliesI get KP on my face when I'm really stressed. I slather on coconut oil on my face when I'm in the shower. I suggest a sugar scrub followed by coconut oil! You can buy a good body scrub anywhere at any price and there are also a ton of DIY recipes. Coconut oil is a great tool to have in your beauty arsenal! Also, other comments have mentioned the significance of diet. Dairy is a source of a lot skin agitation so I recommend trying to cut out the d.
Hi, I also have KP and I started using Gold Bond's Ultimate Rough and Bumpy Skin. It works just as well as, Amlactin, but without the awful smell and it's cheaper. My arms and legs are 80% bump free.
I had this for years and tried everything from prescription creams to Dermadoctor KP duty. What finally worked is researching what KP is and how diet affects it. Turns out, for me, Dairy was a huge factor in managing my KP. the less dairy I eat, the better my KP is. A few years later now and it's all gone. I've swapped out cow dairy for Almond milk, almond milk yogurt, coconut ice cream etc. It's rough at first but for me worth it. Hope you find the best treatment for you!
