Cleaning makeup brushes in between

I know it's always best to use products that are designed for a specific use rather than something else.  Sometimes you don't have the right products at the time though.

Isometimes wipe my makeup brushes on a baby wipe in between color changes or just to remover some product.   I was wondering if this ok or how bad this is to do.

Thanks!

I think it's better that you're cleaning your brushes with baby wipes than not at all--good for you! If you don't have a specific makeup remover, you can always soak them in baby shampoo for a short period. I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Just check the ingredients on the wipes to make sure nothing will irritate your eyes.

I use baby wipes on my face, but the sensitive kind. I find many uses for them and that includes when I need something for wiping my paint brushes and it is lying around. I clean mine with makeup remover for certain types. Just don't lend any of your eye stuff to anyone, had an infection from eye drops. And, the box, it is storage.

Good for you! I see so many of my friends swapping eye makeup and even using saliva to take care of stray color around their eyes. I want to gag! Thanks for the reminder.

I wash mine once a week with some anti bacterial soap!

i use baby shampoo to wash mine, i was told by someone at Ulta that this works great... just better than spending the cash on actual "brush" cleaner. Hey- whatever you can wash a baby with, I'm sure it can't be bad to wash your makeup brushes with. :)

Wipes sound good enough for cleaning the brushes in between makeup...

I clean mine after about a week of use.

I tend to use baby shampoo because it is so gentle and the detergent isn't harsh on the brush bristles. If its gentle enough for baby its gentle enough for most anything. :)

Always pick the perfect brush for the job. Step outside the box, each brush can be more versatile than you think…
