Does Biotin really work?

I was wondering if anyone has actually had a definitive beneficial experience with hair growth or volume increase while taking Biotin. There are so many reviews online, but nothing really conclusive. I need to get my hair back into shape after having experimented a bit too much with hair lightening agents and colors in the last few months, and I don't really know how to go about it (apart from moisture masks and actually being kind to it). Should I take Biotin or another form of vitamin B, or some other sort of "healthy hair" supplement and do they actually work? Thank you in advance to those who reply to this... ;)

There is no scientific data to actually support the claim that it aids in hair growth...

Yes,Biotin does work. It helps to restore or maintain your hair depending on its condition. But to see results you also need a good diet and health active workout ( yoga, walking, running, jogging, dance, your pick) at least two times a week.
