I've found Clearsil Rapid Action 4 Hour Treatment Cream to work very well on treating sudden breakouts. For a longer term treatment, I really like Biore's products, especially the steam-activated cleanser. I also advise using a face mask on a weekly basis, which you can probably just get a grocery or drugstore. I've always used the masks by Freeman, and I thought the avacado, oatmeal, and clay mask was very good.

Try the Cetaphil anti bacterial facial bar soap... It's made for dry sensitive skin and I know a great DIY acne mask/ spot treatment. Take 3 un coated asprine and put 3 drops of water on each. Crush the pills and add about a tablespoon of honey making a PASTE and apply for 10 minutes!

I'm constantly on a lookout for products that fight acne. I would say that if your problem is ongoing, try to incorporate some sort of AHA cleansers, or BHA if your skin is very oily. Those are acids that in very low concentration will prompt your skin to make new cells and to shed the very top layer of your skin (in a gentle manner). But as a short term (emergency type of situation), I agree with GlamGal77 because "Clearsil" does work for me as well. If you have a clay mask (like those "Freeman" clay masks you find as "Walmart") for $3), you can also "spot dab" with that before going to bed. It helps to draw out some of the oils from that area.
