Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review

URBAN DECAY HAS DONE IT AGAIN! So today I am going to talk about the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I got this a little while ago and finally got around to swatching it so I figured I would do a post about it! Quick side story-one of my best friends growing up loved makeup just as much as I did and it just so happened that her mom worked for Urban Decay at the time (before they blew up as much as they have today) and Hard Candy. This meant that at about 10 years old, I was going and hanging out at the Urban Decay warehouse and literally getting boxes of free makeup-eyeshadow, liquid liner, lipstick, gloss, mascara...the works. Needless to say, I have had a slight obsession with this company ever since. And no, I am not affiliated with them in any way, I bought this with my own money and the opinions in this post are 100% my own. First of all, the packaging on this palette is sooo gorgeous. The Rose Gold metal case is the perfect compliment to the beautiful colors inside. Most of the shades in this palette have that kind of cool, rose gold tone to them. In comparison, the Naked 2 palette had mainly warmer, bronze-y shades. You get 4 matte shades (Strange, Limit, Nooner and Darkside), the rest have some kind of shimmer or sheen to them. The colors in this palette are flattering on any eye color and there are shades to make any eye color really pop. Blue eyes will pop with colors like Trick, Factory and Muhsgot. Brown eyes will pop with Dust, Burnout, Limit and Buzz. Green and Hazel eyes will probably stand out the most with these shades though, as the pinkish/purples and champagnes always make Green and Hazel eyes pop, so all you Green and Hazel eyed girls out there like me can get away with any shade in this thing. The formula of these colors is great. They are very smooth and velvety. The pigmentation on most of these is amazing (Strange and Dust can be a little on the sheer side though because they are so light, so you may have to layer those two a bit). As always though, use a primer to get the most color payoff and staying power. I always use Urban Decay Primer Potion. It's very easy to put together many different looks with this palette. Whether you want an everyday wear-to-work look or a dramatic smokey eye for a night out, you can achieve it with this guy. Dust, Burnout and Liar are great for all over the lid, Limit and Nooner are perfect for blending out your crease, and Factory, Mugshot, Darkside and Blackheart are perfect for the outer V and smudging on the lower lash line. Strange can be used as a matte highlight color and works well on people with hooded or small eyes. Since I am light skinned and have smaller, hooded eyes, I tend to favor the lighter shades that won't possibly wash me out. My favorite look to do with this palette is Burnout all over the lid and Buzz on the outer third of my lid and blend that together. Then I go in with limit to carve out my crease and then hit the outer corner with Liar and Factory mixed together. Then I highlight my brow bone with Strange and add a little Dust to my inner corners. Finish off with some mascara and I am good to go!
