Winter Skincare Survival Tips
Aside from being sure to exfoliate and adding more emollient Skincare products to your usual routine, I have a couple of tips I use specifically in the winter.
First for my nighttime routine, right before bed, I rinse my toothbrush really well with water and gently brush my lips to exfoliate the dry skin. I apply Vaseline to my lips. I then rub Vaseline onto my dry hands and put on thin cotton gloves to prevent a mess. By the time I wake up in the morning, my hands and lips are healed and soft.
I also have a trick for preventing cracked dry hands for busy moms with no time. When I prepare meals, I put a few drops of olive oil on the back of my hands and sprinkle some regular table sugar on top and gently rub my hands and use it as a gentle scrub. I rinse it off and finish by adding another drop of olive oil and rub it into the backs of my hands. It is food safe, cheap, contains beneficial ingredients for your skin, is gentle and sensitive skin friendly, plus the best part is that it is easy to fit in your routine - big time saver!
