" FALSE LASH ADVERTISING ????? "

Why do the models wear FAKE LASHES and/or EXTENSIONS in mascara ads? Isn't that called false advertising? Or in this case false lash advertising? We are such smart consumers these days. Its also an insult to our intelligence. I'd prefer to see a model wear just the mascara that's being advertised, to see how good it really looks! I'm surprised there are no guidelines. What's next wigs worn on shampoo ads : (

I agree. I personally think that mascara ads should use mascara as well. It's what they're promoting anyway...

I was just thinking about that the other day, too. I hate that. I love false eyelashes, but I hate that they promise bigger more bold eyelashes and then wear falsies. To be honest, there are lots of mascara's that actually work (not THAT well, but pretty close) and one of them I did a product review on. Avon's Mega Effects Mascara. I love the stuff, honestly. It's not as "thick" persay, but it definitely makes your lashes super long! I'd suggest going over a second time with a regular mascara to make it more thick.

I agree! There should be standards in place as to what is real and what is not, but marketers will use any strategy or technique possible to sell their products. Keep in mind when you see perfect skin that the photos have been airbrushed. Lashes too good to be true? That's because they are! I thing strict regulations need to be in place, but we suffer until they are. In the meantime, keep your product expectations realistic.
