EXPIRATION DATES LABELED ON COSMETICS

Ever wonder how long the eye shadow or the foundation you bought a year ago, is good for? I know we can get that information on line. But, it would be so much easier if cosmetic companies started putting expiration dates on their products. Especially eye makeup that can irritate. I've actually been labeling mine for years so I know when to toss it. With all the new info about ingredients and labeling, I predict this will probably be mandatory in the future for the cosmetic industry.

It would be great if the expiration dates were on the packaging! tat would be so helpful. especially on mascara. I know you should throw it out after two months, but I always forget. and I have no idea how long my foundation is good for. I think it should be required to put the expiration dates on the packaging or on the product itself

I wish I could find information on shelf-life of unopened cosmetics. I'm usually uncertain about buying things that have separated or cracked. I wonder if it's normal or reversible.

GREAT idea! I know approximately how long to keep items, but I can't remember when I purchased them. An expiration date would be most helpful . . .

Totally agree! I do not like the labels with '6mths after opening' as after opening I cannot stay with lists to know the the products reach the label.
