Antibiotics for Acne?

Topical acne creams leave my skin extremely tight and dry making it very hard for me to wear foundation. I'd like to know if anyone has tried antibiotics to treat their acne like Doxycycline or Tetracycline, etc.? If so, did it help? I'm thinking about seeing my doctor to start on an antibiotic treament but would like to hear from anyone who has tried this before I do so.

I've been on Doxycycline for almost a month now. By the 3rd week I was totally acne free. This made a big difference in my life! klfnwf, thank you for your reply.

I am in medicine and I would say do not jump on an oral medication. If you really think you need an antibiotic you could use topical. This will cause you a lot less harm. I will say most acne can be alleviated with diet but you have to play around with this. When I gave up sugar and gluten my acne disappeared completely.
