Berry Trend for Fall

It seems to me that every year about this time, beauty junkies and guru's alike start talking about upcoming winter trends, whats hot. Berry and deep colors seem to be top rated for winter. I'm for a great, glossy, berry lip but my go-to look for winter is waaay more natural. A slight flush on the cheeks and lips, some black eyeliner and a champagne color on the lids and I'm done. Why do we spend so much time on our skin, hydrating like crazy to combat the harsh climate, only to shellac on a bunch of makeup? I don't want to hassle with lipstick maintenance when I'm trying to battle chapped skin.
