My Favorite Morning Lotion: Everyday Coconut

Everyday Shea, the popular fair trade sheabutter company from Togo, Africa has created a new line of products made from COCONUTS! Although I love sheabutter, I think my heart is with the mighty coconut.

Their spin off name is Everyday Coconut, and you can purchase them in (only) bulk sizes from Wholefoods, Sprouts, and online.

Everyday Coconut sells body wash, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. I’m really excited to try their other products.

Today I’m going to review their Coconut Lotion, which is the only product I have tried out of their line so far.
Everyday Coconut Super Hydrating Conditioner — 32 fl oz comes in a large 32 ounce bottle with a pump lid. The coconut oil used is fair trade, and virgin. The base of the lotion is made from coconut water, and they have included the skin loving, antioxidant rich coffee berry extract (awesome for anti-aging). The product is unscented, but still has a slightly sweet scent.

What I love about the lotion is that it comes in the bulk size, and also the ingredients which are all safe, and non-toxic. Everyday Coconut Super Hydrating Conditioner — 32 fl oz is light, yet very moisturizing because of all the skin loving, easily absorbable coconut oil. The lotion has a nice smooth glide, and soaks in fast. Secret: I have been using it on my face!

Coconut oil is awesome for our skin. It has a unique, one of a kind fatty acid structure that is able to penetrate into the pores and truly moisturize. This lotion is great for everyday use, and safe for babies and kids.

Besides the lotion being awesome, so is the company. Alaffia, (everyday coconut and everyday shea) supports African woman by employing them and paying them fair wages. They have also supplied over 4000 bikes to people in Togo, Africa, and they provide prenatal care to women. Another plus is that they plant over 8000 trees in Africa a year to prevent soil erosion on small farms. What a great, proactive company! Hand clap!

Lets critique the ingredients in Everyday Coconut’s Super Hydrating Body Lotion:

• Coconut water: amino rich, nourishing, hydrating

• Coffee Bean Extract: Antioxidant rich, minerals, great for skin and anti-ageing

• Virgin Coconut Oil: Super moisturizing, healing, skin loving

• Steric Acid: Non-toxic, safe, emollient. Gives the lotion a nice glide.

• Vegetable Emulsifying Wax: Emulsifies the water and oil. Non-toxic

• Copra Extract: Extract from coconut flesh. Not sure what it does, but I’m sure it’s good for the skin.

• Phenoxyethanol: Preservative. Safe.

• Potassium Sorbate: Food based preservative. Safe.

• Citric Acid: PH adjuster. Safe.

Sooo…drum roll…Great product. I use it everyday after my morning shower to lightly hydrate my skin. My boys love it too. My husband asks for back rubs and this makes a great massage lotion with lots of glide and no grease.
