review- born pretty store nail stamping kit

Today I have another Born Pretty Store review for you all! Born Pretty Store is a really great company that sells a ton of makeup, nail, and beauty tools for a really cheap price. You can view there website here!

I've wanted to try a stamping kit for quite some time, so I jumped at the chance to try this one by Born Pretty Store, from their Hello Kitty line. You can get this set here, and it retails for only $3.88! You can buy their stamping polishes here, and they are only $1.80 each! So they have super cheap prices! Plus, shipping & handling is completely free.

This set includes a scraper, a stamper, and one nail plate. You get everything you need for stamping except  a stamping polish. That's why I got the special black stamping polish. I've heard that you can use any polish to stamp with, but the ones made for stamping are a lot better.

When I first got this in the mail yesterday, I was kind of confused on how to use it. I've never had a  nail stamping kit before, so it took a bit of work to figure out how to do this. I've heard other people say that it always takes a bit to get the hang on nail stamping, and that is definitely true. I messed up a lot at first, I had no clue what I was doing! But within 20 minutes or so, I was stamping and it was actually turning out good!

How- to...

  1. Paint your nails with any polish. Use as many coats as you need to get them nice and opaque.
  2. Now, take the plate and paint the stamping polish on top of the design you want to use.
  3. Take the scraper and scrape off any excess polish on top of the design.
  4. Now, take the stamper and smoosh it down against the painted design. Before you stamp that on your nails, check the stamper to make sure the design developed okay.
  5. Now, stamp that on your nails!

This kit worked really well to give me really cute, stamped nails. I was honestly, really impressed. The stamping polish worked well, also. It wasn't too thick or too thin. It was a great texture and it dried really fast to a semi- matte finish, which was also kind of neat. The stamping polish is really, really small. Kind of like one of those old Bon-Bons polishes I used to get from Walmart in the '90's. Haha. Except unlike the Bon- Bons, this polish really worked well. It didn't chip or peel and the color was really opaque. It is really small, but it's so cheap that it's worth it! I compared the stamping polish to a regular sized nail polish below.

The kit was really high quality, it didn't feel cheaply made at all. All of the products were nicely made and felt sturdy. Plus, none of it broke while I was using it!

Because this is my first ever experience with a nail stamping kit, I admit that I was a bit of a fish out of water. My manicure didn't turn out perfect, but I think it really worked well to make a really cute print on my nails. I know that I will be using this a ton in the future!

Hello Kitty face I used for below manicure

To create this look, I used 2 coats of China Glaze Hook and Line. Then I used the black stamping polish and the Hello Kitty face on the plate to make one Hello Kitty face on each of my nails. Then I used my dotting tools to make a few pink polka dots on each of my nails. The pink polish is by Kiss, it's called Bikini Pink.

FINAL VERDICT- I was really, really impressed with this set and the stamping polish. It was super reasonably priced, but all of the products are high quality. Because I had never used a stamping set before, I was a bit of a fish out  of water. But, once I practiced, I was happy with how good my designs came out. I would recommend this set to someone that wants to try nail stamping, but not spend a lot of money, like they would if they bought a Konad.  I recommend the stamping polishes to anyone that like to stamp nails, but likes to use their special polishes, and get them at a cheap cost.

Have you ever used a nail stamper?

*I was sent the nail stamping kit and stamping polish for free from Born Pretty Store, in turn for a review. No links are any type of affiliate links, I am not getting paid the links or this review, & all opinions are completely my own!
