How to Have Natural Beauty
In a society where medical advances affect every aspect of our lives, even beauty can now be achieved with a price tag. One of my friends actually told me that it’s a sin to be ugly if you’re rich. Come to think of it, there’s actually some truth to that. But true beauty is most radiant when it’s natural. There’s nothing more attractive in a woman than her glowing natural beauty. So how do we achieve natural beauty? Here are some tips:
Eat right and drink lots. Having a healthy diet will benefit your body most specially your skin. The food pyramid is a good guide to know which food groups you need to increase/decrease your intake. Make fruits your best friend. Fruits not only hydrate your skin but also give a lot of antioxidants that protect your skin from cell damage and fight aging. Citrus fruits like orange and kiwi will give you huge doses of antioxidants. You can find this in veggies, too! Beta-carotene-rich vegetables are also rich in antioxidants. Nibble on carrots, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins and let your skin do the talking. Water is another beauty buddy you should keep. Dehydration will cause your skin to dry and age easily. Drinking 8 glasses of water everyday will go a long way. Your skin will look more healthy and radiant when it’s hydrated.
It pays to be clean. Good hygiene is a prerequisite to achieve natural beauty. Taking a bath, brushing your teeth, putting on deodorant, cleaning your ears, cutting your fingernails—the sum total of all these is a confident woman ready to interact with other people because she has nothing to be ashamed of. She already covered the basics of being presentable by just being clean. You look freshest after you shower. Just the thought that you’re dirt-free is actually liberating. It is important to note though that you don’t over clean yourself. Meaning, your skin should be washed no more than twice a day. Washing your face too often will cause damage to your natural lipid barrier which is responsible for lubricating your skin.
Skin care matters. Moisturizers and cleansers are the skin care essentials that you shouldn’t forget. Moisturizers will protect your skin from premature aging. It helps you add moisture to your skin and maintain the moisture you have. Oil is not synonymous to moisture. You still need a good moisturizer suited to your skin type. Do not settle for soap and water to clean your skin. Use cleansers that will remove the dirt without removing the protective layers of your skin. Another necessary skin care is putting on sunscreen. The sun is very harsh to your skin. Sun exposure causes wrinkles, age spots, freckles, thin lines, and other skin problems. You need to protect your skin from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Choose a sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher. Apply every hour or two if you will have long sun exposure.
Enjoy exercise. Exercise will give your body the shape and suppleness that spell beauty. Different leisure activities are actually forms of cardiovascular exercise such as walking, jogging, gardening, swimming, dancing, biking, and the list goes on! Stretch your muscles regularly, do sit ups at home, climb up and down the stairs—all these things benefit your bones and muscles. Exercise will also help you lose weight and get to that dress size you desire.
Beauty rest. Sleeping is your perfect beauty rest. Sleeping helps your skin in many ways. When we sleep, our body repairs the damages done to your skin throughout the day. The body produces more protein when we sleep thus increasing the cell’s building blocks. This provides the much-needed skin repair and regeneration. As good sleep results to a more vibrant skin, lack of sleep will also show its damaging effects particularly to your face. Dark circles under your eyes, acne, and overall skin sluggishness are indications of sleep deprivation. So treat yourself to a natural beauty rest, let your skin relax, and heal naturally as you sleep. There are items that help promote nice sleep as well such as comfortable bed mattresses which provides you a really good night sleep. When you’re completely rested, your skin will also show it beautifully. Achieving natural beauty can be done when you combine these tips. You don’t need to spend on skin procedures to be beautiful. You simply need to adjust your lifestyle to a healthier one and your natural beauty will exude in no time!
