Tarte Neutral Eyes Volume II
So, I work in a fairly professional environment, and much to my dismay I need to keep my makeup fairly toned down. My collegues are mostly men, and the women in the department are used to the male dominated workplace (or have given up caring) so they don’t tend to wear any makeup. If I were to wear bright colors I’d stick out like a sore thumb.
As a result, one of my standby for my work week is my Tarte Neutral Eyes Volume II.
It is one of their limited edition palettes with 10 different shades – some matte, some with shimmer. The matte ones are nice, not chalky and have a fairly good color payoff. The shimmer ones are just faintly shimmery – which to me is a little of a let down however it is very work appropriate. The coverage is good and with a primer there is no creasing at all – it will last me my entire 12 hour work day plus a couple hours at home.
In the photos you can see the palette – a cute faux leather clutch style case that is reusable or customizable due to a magnetic strip, the colors in the palette – including a nice aqualiner (I prefer cream liners so I rarely use it) and a great two ended brush. The brush has one large eye brush and one crease brush. When I put color on my lid I typically use a much smaller brush than these, but in a pinch the eye brush works just fine. I use the matte brown to the farthest right with a liner brush in my eyebrows to create a fuller and more visible brow.
