mario badescu drying lotion recipe!

if youve never heard of mario badescu, its a brand that originated from a spa in new york i believe? anyway, this brand has amazing products like the buffering lotin for cysts, the drying cream, and the drying lotion for whitheads and pimples. 

the drying lotion is fantastic!. calamine lotion on the bottom, and the liquid is alcohol based. you stick a qtip in the product (do not shake) and gather the calamine lotion as it penetrates the liquid. then you simply dab it on the blemish. the only problem for me is the price! like 17 dollars for this little devil and i cringed the first time i bought it. but not for long cause it does work.

well one day i was reading reviews on it and someone mentioned you could easily make your own and a light bulb went off in my head on how to make it.

you only need three tools/products: 

1. an empty prescription bottle. (if you absolutely cannot find or use one, dollar genral or walmart sell silver pill capsules. i forgot the name of them. but you will want something with a tight lid so nothing seeps in... or out)
2. calamine lotion
3. an alcohol based toner. (any simple one will do. i used clean and clear astringent oil free)

take you container, pour the astringent in and then pour the clalmine lotion in under halfway. close the lid and let it settle.

there you have it! your own homemade drying lotion. i already had an old prescription bottle so all together it cost probably 8 dollars. 

but the two best parts is i still have a BUNCH of the calamine lotion and astringent so i can make as many refills as i want until i run out of the toner  and..... it works just as freakin well as the regular drying lotion. not any better or worse. i loved the expensive one very much but i love my homemade even more because its just as effective and cheaper!!
