You Don't Have to Live With Enlarged Pores Even if you don’t have acne, pigmentation problems or too many wrinkles, you may still find your complexion to be less than perfect. Blame it on enlarged pores.

Enlarged pores can make your skin looked weathered and unattractive. They’re usually caused by one or more of the following:

Genetics:  if your mother or father had them, then chances are you’ll have them, too. Dirt and debris: gunk can get trapped in your pores, clogging them. Pores full of yucky stuff will be more pronounced and visible, plus may lead to inflammation and acne.
Sun exposure: excessive sun exposure weakens the skin, leading to sags and bags. Sagging skin pulls down on the pores, making each look bigger.

Although we need our pores, since they serve as the doorways for hair and natural oils (sebum) to reach the  outermost layer of the skin to provide protection, you can minimize their appearance so that your complexion looks more even toned and smoother.

Option #1:  Makeup
Perfectly applied products, namely foundation and concealer, help to fill in our pores to make them look less visible. This option is a fast and pretty easy solution, but will only last until your makeup comes off. You’ll also need to be extra-conscientious in removing all of the products, since it can contribute to the problem you’re trying to camouflage (or cause something worse, like acne).

Cost: $15 to $50.   Option #2:  Skincare Products
If you want something that doesn’t just hide the problem, go for a complete skincare treatment regimen you can do at home. Make sure to select a cleanser, toner/astringent (astringents are preferred for oily and acne prone skin), serums/therapy products and moisturizer (preferably with SPF) that have all been designed for your skin.

Cost: $50 to $400 (for pharmaceutical grade skincare products only sold at medical
clinics).
                Option 3:  Chemical Peels
Chemical peels may sound scary, but they’re actually based on ingredients that are totally natural. The same acids found in fruit (AHA) and our bodies (L+ lactic) are used to gently exfoliate the skin, unclogging pores to make them less visible.
Cost: about $100/session (less if you purchase a package deal).
What You Must Do, No Matter What
No matter what option you select, you can’t ignore the importance of good lifestyle habits. Avoid excessive sun exposure, eat a diet loaded with fresh fruit and veggies, as well as get your beauty rest!
