Dry Itchy Scalp - HELP!

Hi there,
I have been experiencing extremely dry scalp and itchiness.
Its driving me nuts and makes me feel very self conscious and embarassing.
I wash my hair 2, 3 times a week and i have tried dandruff shampoos but no help.
help!
