While protecting our skin from the sun, we could be causing another issue. Many protective products (like sunscreen) can cause acne. Look for sunblock that contains zinc titanium, which protects without clogging pores!!

Good to know. One of my doctor's friends, a dermatologist, was talking about how zinc causes less acne than most sun screens. She also mentioned a line of skin care products called Ambe that you're supposed to use after plastic surgery. I wonder if they contain zinc...

Great tip! Thanks for sharing. My favorite sunscreen that uses zinc is the California Baby sun stick. It's really convenient for the beach, it rubs on pretty nicely and isn't just for babies. :) It's gotten some pretty high reviews from other Total Beauty users too.

I've also heard that the higher the SPF rating, the higher the toxicity rating. they have changed their standards since the 60's.
