The Pre-Wedding Chop

You've probably heard of the post-wedding chop, but I decided to do something that most brides wouldn't dream of doing. Yep, I cut six inches off my hair a mere six months before my summer wedding. (Cue gasps of horror from the bride-to-bes out there.)
It sounds like a risky move, but here's a fun fact about my hair -- it grows at an alarmingly fast rate. If I chop it off at the beginning of the year, it'll be back down to my shoulders by July. So going short isn't as big of a deal for me as it was for Rapunzel. (And if you haven't seen "Tangled" yet, you totally should. So cute.)
Of course after I walked out of the salon, I realized what I did and felt a twinge of regret. But I quickly got over it, because I've got six months to grow it out, and if I've timed it right enough, I can still get a final trim a few weeks before the big day, and it should (hopefully) be the perfect length.
Plus, I think it's refreshing to ring in the new year with a new look. Would you ever go through with a big change at the start of the most important year of your life? Or do you think I'm crazy for doing something like this? You can be honest.

my hair doesnt grow fast at all, it was down my back all the way when i chopped it off too. i did this 4 yrs ago. i chopped it to my chin, 4 yrs later it is only just below my shoulders. love the hair

I don't think you're crazy. I chopped off my hair above my shoulders in May and now it is definitely below my shoulders, so I feel you with hair growing fast. You can also take things like Fish Oil which can help your hair grow quicker and worse comes to worse there are always extensions. You've certainly inspired me to make a bold hair move. I'm going to be getting bangs in the very near future!!
